Well, I don't know about you but I could list infinity hows.

Let's see, there is massive psychological damage, deception, genocide, indoctrination, slavery, apartheid, war, hunger, crimes against humanity; just to name a few.

In my ever so humble opining, all religion is pure nonsense. Having said that, there is one religion, nonsensically deranged as it is, that has been and still is; very dangerous => christianity.

Since its inception, it has seeped into and poisoned every single aspect of humanity. Covering every area of human life, love, productivity, advancement (or lack thereof), inspiration ad infinitum.

This can be looked at from just about any and all angles, Scientific, religious, Historical, Psychological, Political, Journalistic, personal and even from a Fictional book writing whilst off your face perspective.

This is but a short intro, a tip toe if you will.

Have I tried it? Why yes, I most certainly have. I decided to pass that cup, with good reason.

IMHO you may have confused God, and the simple teachings of love, forgiveness and peace, which His son brought to mankind – you may have confused that with Organized Religion. Because:
God is God, religion is man.
Christianity – the teachings of Jesus, the Christ, which I mentioned above – never hurt anyone, and again IMHO have helped everyone who embraces them in their purity and original intent. However yes, sadly Organized Religion (both Christian and several others) have done a tremendous amount of damage. I personally have a sore spot against televangelists, with their auditoriums full of thousands, their white suits, and their "slow walking and fast talking" patter. I'm just saying. at the very least they deceive unintentionally. But at their worst they use guilt and mind control to milk and bilk people out of their money, some of which can ill afford it.

Surely an omnipotent being cannot be confused by a mere mortal.

Which simple teachings of love, forgiveness and peace?

The eye for an eye babble or the hate your family to "follow me" babble?

Man made religion based on a man made invisible deity friend so it's not really that confusing.

Never hurt anyone? Hahahahahahahahaha.

These people might disagree with your opinion:

These people would also disagree, if they could:

"The destruction of the Indians of the Americas was, far and away, the most massive act of genocide in the history of the world." David E. Stannard.

"This violent corruption needn't define us.... We can say, yes, this happened, and we are ashamed. We repudiate the greed. We recognize and condemn the evil. And we see how the harm has been perpetuated. But, five hundred years later, we intend to mean something else in the world." Barry Lopez.

"By then [1891] the native population had been reduced to 2.5% of its original numbers and 97.5% of the aboriginal land base had been expropriated....Hundreds upon hundreds of native tribes with unique languages, learning, customs, and cultures had simply been erased from the face of the earth, most often without even the pretense of justice or law." Peter Montague

Oh yeah, Hitler was a christian too.

I agree, religion has indeed done a tremendous amount of damage, yet christians "never hurt anyone", right?
