Is that why Britain abandoned it's UN responsibility in Korea?
However, Brits(in their small numbers) following us in Korea was greatly appreciated.

Bless em

The 1st Commonwealth Division(commanded by AMERICAN Lieutenant General Frank W. Milburn),was part of the US I Corps, which also included the US 1st Cavalry Division, the US 3rd and 25th Infantry Divisions, and the ROK 1st Division. The division occupied the strategically important sector of front on the Jamestown Line, stretching from the Kimpo peninsula on the Yellow Sea coast to a point east of Kumhwa about 6.3 miles (10.1 km), and just 30 miles (48 km) from the South Korean capital, Seoul.

It was deactivated in 1954 as part of the demobilisation of forces in Korea in the aftermath of the war, being reduced to a Commonwealth Brigade Group, and from May 1956 until its final withdrawal in August 1957 to a Commonwealth Contingent of battalion strength.

The United Nations Security Council Resolution 84 was adopted on July 7, 1950. Having determined that the invasion of the Republic of Korea by the forces from North Korea constituted a breach of the peace, the Council recommended that the members of the United Nations furnish such assistance to the Republic of Korea as may be necessary to repel the attack and restore peace and security to the area. The Council further recommended that all members providing military forces and other assistance to The Republic make these forces and assistance available to a unified >>>command under the United States of America<<<<

The resolution passed with the votes from the>> United Kingdom,<< the Republic of China (Taiwan), Cuba, Ecuador, France, Norway and the United States. The Kingdom of Egypt, India and the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia abstained. The Soviet Union, a veto-wielding power, was absent, having been boycotting proceedings since January, in protest that the Republic of China and not the People's Republic of China held a permanent seat on the council. The Council President at that time was Norwegian Arne Sunde.

Opposition U-Turn on Boycotting Friends of Syria Conference

This represents a turnaround after the Syrian National Council .
