First of all, every square inch of the Western Hemisphere was claimed by a European power long before there was a US government.<quoted text>
You have some nerve, Schwuchtel, to compare Germany with the USA, which was founded on the Holocaust against the Native Americans committed by the U.S. government and your ancestral settlers over a period of more than 300 years.
John Toland, preeminent biographer of Adolf Hitler, discovered that Hitler's bloody rampage across Europe was inspired by the genocide of Americans against the indigenous peoples of America:
"Hitler's concept of concentration camps as well as the practicality of genocide owed much, so he claimed, to his studies of English and United States history. He admired the camps for Boer prisoners in South Africa And for the Indians in the Wild West; and often praised to his inner circle the efficiency of America's extermination-by starvation and uneven combat-of the 'Red Savages' who could not be tamed by captivity.(John Toland, "Adolf Hitler" Vol II, p 802, Doubleday & Co, 1976)
Authors such as the Holocaust expert David Cesarani have argued that the government and policies of the United States of America against certain indigenous peoples in furtherance of Manifest Destiny constituted genocide.
Cesarani states that "in terms of the sheer numbers killed, the Native American Genocide exceeds that of the Holocaust".
He quotes David E. Stannard, author of American Holocaust, who speaks of the "genocidal and racist horrors against the indigenous peoples that have been and are being perpetrated by many nations in the Western Hemisphere, including the United States.
Not to mention the continuous and countless wars of aggression against foreign countries by the U.S. government against the innocent and peaceful people of nations all around the world.
I can provide you with a seemlessly never-ending list of genocidal crimes by the U.S., resulting in hundreds of millions of deaths, mutilation, torture, rape, oppression and destruction.
Even as I'm typing this, you're beloved leaders are mass-murdering, mutilating, torturing and raping hundreds of thousands of innocent Syrian women, children and men by training Sunni terrorist organizations via "military advisers" and providing them with arms and other lethal aid.
I am deeply ASHAMED to be an American citizen even though I have never participated in our government's mass-murdering rampages across the world.
Second, many Americans (myself included) have some Native American blood running through our veins so extermination contained a lot of assimilation. My friends wife is FBI (full blood Indian) and his last name and the last name of their children is Van Horn. As an Indian, was she exterminated?
Third, Native Americans have dual citizenship and are eligible to vote and hold office in the US government yet still hold rights of a sovereign nation outside the immediate jurisdiction of the US laws.
Fourth, Hitler had a lot of models to follow. I doubt he would have followed the one that allowed the most diverse and liberal immigration policy in the world. Ataturk died as a hero and the Father of modern Turkey in 1938 by successfully doing what Hitler attempted to do just one year later.
Fifth, nearly 500 years of European Imperialism and colonialism not only brought subjugation to the rest of the world, it brought at least two world wars to Europe itself. The US is the only super power in history to willingly reduce its territory. Hell, we dont even want Puerto Rico.
BTW-I am very proud to be an American and like nearly all Americans I have never participated in mass-murdering rampages across the world.
