Moron, the invasion was a result of Reagan and the Brits handing Saddam chem wepaons ability during the Iran-Iraq war. Since then Saddam used chem weapons on several other occasions, usually on Iraqis!! So, in this case, it was the US trying to clean up a mess it and Britain made in the 1st place. Hence the British presence there as well.<quoted text>
What's "funny" is the typical American "with us or against us" idiocy that places all dialog into one of 2 corners. I said Saddam wasn't COMPLETELY wrong in trying to get back Kuwait and this statement (in your way of thinking) means "justifying the actions of the Iraqis in Kuwait. Rape, murder, theft".
What is also funny is how you condemn the actions of Saddam while justifying the actions of the Americans in Irak. Rape, murder, theft, all committed by the United Snakes.
Anyone reading this want to bet this Zoda guy didn't understand what I just said?
Is invading Irak supposedly an act of justice against a country that had no WMD's nor had anything at all to do with the WTC attack on 7/11?
The bet's still on that Zoda here didn't understand that either.
The only major fuck up was, once Saddam was gone, the al quaeda types moved in. He was the only thing keeping those fuckers out of Iraq, as Iraq was a secular nation.
As for Kuwait, Saddam was COMPLETLY WRONG. Again, look up suzerainty. Kuwait was a part of the Ottoman Empire but was never part of Iraq. It was basically an Iraqi protectorate. Something that seems to be acceptable to fuckwads like you unless a country is a US protectorate. The main difference between the two; the "suzerained" country pays tribute to the suzerain. Saddam just wanted something that was granted to Iraq by the then long defunct Ottoman Empire.
He also accused Kuwait of slant drilling $2.4 billion in oil from the Rumaila oil fields and blamed their overproduction of oil on Iraq's falling crude prices. The $80 billion he owed them was also likely on his mind
And finally, the Gulf War wasn't an American case of "with us or against us", even the Arab nations in the region weren't too fucking happy with Saddam over that one.
Oh, one last thing, please do point out(feel free to quote actually)where I "justified" the actions of a handful of American soldiers in Iraq. If you need any straw for your strawman let me know, my brother in-law is a farmer.
