IMAGINING A CYBERATTACK ON THE POWER GRID.

“More than 200 utilities and government agencies across the country, from Consolidated Edison to the Department of Homeland Security to Verizon, are now expected to sign up for the largest emergency drill to test the electricity sector’s preparation for cyberattack.

The drill, scheduled for November 2013, will simulate an attack by an adversary that takes down large sections of the power grid and knocks out vast areas of the continent for weeks.

The drill, organized by the North American Electric Reliability Corporation, is to explore how the country would respond to an enormous grid failure that interrupts supplies of water, food and fuel and creates disruptions on a scale far beyond those of Sept. 11, 2001.”

Considering what happened to the US on 9/11 it kinda makes you wonder what our govie has in store for us during these "war games" and drill simulations.

Huh Eh !

Yes sir, you can do a lot more damage with a keyboard than you ever could with explosives! I'm waiting for something like that to happen with the air traffic control system at a major US airport, like arranging for two jets to land on the same runway at the same time.

Oh well great, something else for me to think about when I fly! LOL. Aircraft transitions always make me nervous, takeoffs and landings. That's when all the snafus seem to happen, when taking off I always listen to the engines until we get up and lift is established and I can feel the climb is going okay. And then coming down, like I said I get nervous the earth is going to rise up to rapidly or something. Def our infrastructure is the place "they" are going to be hitting next I think.
