Coping with Trauma in Labour and Delivery - Dr. Carrie Lionberg, C.Psych. & Ms. Zoe Therrien, MA. A public presentation in celebration of "February is Psychology Month". Monday, February 25th., 2013 at the Atrium - St. Boniface General Hospital, Winnipeg, Manitoba.
The presentation will focus on what may be involved in an unexpectedly traumatic birthing experience, including the potential psychological impact and variety of reactions experienced by both parents in this challenging situation. The discussion will also identify warning signs of individuals who are having difficulty dealing with this trauma and what others can do to help and support them.
