See, now my impression has been quite different. I've seen what I would consider mean, close minded Christians, but most of the anger seems to come from the non believers. Go figure.

I believe those who participated in the Inquisition, the Crusades, the Holacost, the witch burnings/drownings were pretty angry. Most Athiests were on the receiving end.

Makes sense. Christians are the oppressive, intolerant, persecuting majority. Atheists are the oppressed, persecuted minority.

If he's the one that told you that atheists were the targets of the inquisition, the crusades, and the holocaust than I'd switch over to someone a little more relevant. Try Stephen King.

The times you were talking about was religious persecution , not athiest persecution. Aethism was very low percentage wise in those days. it was Catholic or nothing. Jews ,Christians and Muslims were toast.

People simply blame Christians for the Catholic menace.

Athiests have always been a persecuted minority. Unjustly whip any group long enough and they'll get angry.

The only reason that atheists seem angry to all of you bible thumpers, is that we just can not abide by stupid, superstitious, closed minded people that want every one in the world to be like them. Unable to engage their brain when they know full well that religion is a scam. There is no god, never has been one and thank you, never will be one. So all of you fools continue to stand and look to the sky, either singing some idiotic song praising a nothing and hope that a sign will come from above to enlighten your dumb A==. Which will never happen because you were born dumb and will die dumb

thats what happens when you believe in nothing. Human beings are designed to believe in a higher power. Atheist disabled that function, so they become foul mouthed (not all) and really are the most intolerant people after all. While they claim to 'hate' all religion. Their real problem, by their own admission,is with the Jesus believers.

Listen, can you hear them chanting...
'Crucify them!' " Crucify them!''Crucify them!'

Most of all the athiest that I have met were not angry at all. They respected my for my beliefs as did I for them. They never became angered till someone started pushing them to change their ways, or kept hounding them by asking them why, why, why. But when the athiest asked why they believed the way they do they would just stand there muttering uh uh uh.

Who's angry? I think you're confusing "anger" with the "indignation" we have for hypocritical bible beaters when they have the audacity to judge us and tell us we're going to hell.

What idiot told you this? A preacher? Makes sense. Why are humans designed to believe in a higher power. Show me some evidence of your claim.

Here's why atheists are angry:
1) People think we're not true Americans even if we've lived in America all our lives.
2) State contitutions dicriminate against us.
3) People(Chisstians mostly) Keep telling us we're going to hell or trying to convert us
4) We have to listen to religious zealots push their religion on us, and when we say something back they say that we're opprssing them and disrespecting their beliefs.

If that doesn't make someone angry, I don't know what will.
