It depends on what state you're in. If I wanted to kill lots of people, I would go to a state where gun shows have little regulation.

Ok, since the subject is now open to all firearms, I would choose the M1 carbine; it's 30cal, small, lightweight, and the 30round clip can be changed in a heartbeat.

Yeah, you gotta have a 30 round clip! Those should never be regulated in ANY way! It's my right to have a magazine that can hold enough bullets to take out an entire room of innocent people.

It's also my right to have a gun that the military requires special training to use. As a civillian, I don't need any pesky training to use one. That would be an inconvienience!

Do you think the V Tech and Columbie shooters could have done as much damage with a hammer?

There are what you would call 'normal' levels of crime, and the USA does not have one when it comes to gun violence, even as the crime rate has dropped dramatically since the early 90's. Kids can get guns to commit suicide, for instance. It's a one-way ticket to a sucessful attempt, whereas if the took pills or slashed their wrists they could be saved.

An armed populace isn't the solution. Even the cops who train all the time can't shoot straight much of the time in a firefight. It's understandable, of course.
