Not angry at all. But I will do what I can to stop religion from destroying us as a species. That's why I'm on here.
Religion only does 3 things real well: it controls people, if divides people, and it deludes people.
Hopefully one day enough people will see through this delusion to actually begin to make a difference.
Forums like this do too.

See, I am eating a hot dog. Not trying to convince people that God does or does not exist, which frankly, I have no proof either way.

Only when you "try to make a difference" do you get "difference" which turns to conflict.

Go have a hot dog, and stop talking about God or the lack thereof.

Then you will have achieved what 5000 years of recorded history could not.

Simply stop the conflict by not engaging in it.

Holy shit, what a genius analysis. A person uses "evil" in his name, so he HAS TO BELIEVE IN IT. Wow, I don't know how you came to that conclusion.

Maybe, he is referring to the idea of evil that we have created in our society, thanks to religion.

Maybe he is making a joke???

HER NAME WAS LOLA. SHE WAS A SHOWGIRL, it won't get out of my head.
Technically it's all your fault.

You were the one to speak the name first.

Why is it people who believe get so nasty and bitter?
You want to know why atheists get upset --
1. 900+ years of Crusades and still counting in the mid-East
2. The Inquisitions (still going on in Guantanamo)
3. The Reformations (still in Northern Ireland)
4. Trying to use public opinion to set science policy instead of actually trying to do science.
5. Attempting to destroy our secular foundation and create a theocracy.
Just to name a few.

True, but I thought it was a quiz to see who could guess the reference first. I thought the prize would be proof of God.

I am 100% sure I am going to Heaven, Hallelujah points are NOT what gets you to heaven. It's belief in God and the death of Christ on the Cross that paid your sin debt in full that will get you to heaven.
I thought that this god made the final determination as to who gets into heaven. Are you certain enough to speak on this god's behalf?

Sure right here.
God said that he gave man free will.
People whom are mentally ill or mentally retarded have limited control over their actions or impulses.
A mentally ill person in a comatose state or just a normal person in a coma have no free will.
Being that not everybody has free will over the actions of there bodies or the thoughts in there heads including Tourettes syndrome not all people where given free will.
If all people do not have free will then god could have not given all people free will.
We only sin because we have free will but since all people do not have free will sin does not exist
Free will is the ability or discretion to choose; the power of making free choices that are unconstrained by external circumstances or by an agency such as fate or divine will.

People who are mentally ill and mentally retarded still have some free will in their lives. I say that because my cousin is mentally retarded.

A person in a coma was not born in a coma so that's irrelevant.

A person with Tourettes Syndrome has the ability to make their own decisions on actions they take in life. Sure, they yell out things unexpectedly, but they still have pretty much all control of their thoughts and their actions with the exception of sometimes saying things they don't really mean to say.

We find out as time goes by that everything we thought was Bullsh*t.
If what your saying was the truth and he was so complicated then why would all the idealogies of what we thought to be true untill science proved it wrong false?
If god was so complex then we would not have thought that the sun revolves around the world like it was said to.
Things like this would have been simple to explain in the bible.
This is proof enough that somebody("many people") pulled this whole god thing out of their a$$
I'm just curious if you or any of the other "non-believers" have actually read the bible since it is so often referred to in arguments. If you have, I obviously interpret it differently than some of you.

People argue that the bible was written by man so it's just some fairy tale.

Since we were children, we've always been taught to find the definition of any word in the dictionary.

The dictionary was written by man so why is it that people dispute the bible but nobody ever disputes the validity of the dictionary.

Don't get me wrong, we exercise Freedom of Religion in this country and by all means, you are entitled to do so, however, I will pray for the non-believing souls to be guided to see the truth of God's word.

It's not my fault you are scared to admit what we have become. Keep your head in the sand, that will get a lot done. However, the last time I checked, I earned the right to say what I want after serving.

We don't "argue" that it was written by man, it definitely WAS written by man. That is a historical FACT.

Also, it was not written in English. First it was written in Hebrew, translated to Greek, then Latin, and King James had it translated to English. Along the way, they used,.... guess what? TRANSLATION DICTIONARIES to do this.

Therefore, it makes no sense for you to insist on the validity of the words in the bible and then cast doubt on the validity of the words in the dictionary. They are inter-dependant in the way I've just described. And because of this relationship, the dictionary has more validity than the bible does and the bible translations should always be treated as suspect and examined carefully .... If you choose to believe the stories aren't just fairy tales.

You should also keep in mind that "Freedom of Religion" must include "Freedom FROM Religion". If you are willing to respect other religions, you should afford the same respect for those who elect "No Religion".

Elementary, m'dear. The Dictionary is re-published annually. The definitions that it applies to words reflect how the word is currently being used, not necessarily a rock-solid, unalterable definition. Look up the word "gay" in the 1920 MW, and it will tell you it means "joyous" and "happy"....look it up in the 2008 edition. It will also give you alternate spellings phonics of words. And, the real biggy. If a word is no longer used or expired, the dictionary doesn't try to create a metaphysical or mystical riddle to maintain it's existence and explain away it's failure.
