However, that we are aware of, broccoli and carrots don't feel pain or suffer. How does a fish die when you catch it to eat? How does a cow die when you kill it to eat?

Scientists don't do research on moral/spiritual matters. They do research on actual things, objects that exists. Like DNA, rocks, like your head, anything that actually exists, but not religious concepts, or morality. That would keep them from finding truth in their tests if they were biased.
A psychologist may run tests on peoples emotional state, how they came to think as they do, if there are imbalances in brain chemistries, any other problems that may affect the mind.
"They do research on actual things, objects that exists."

um...yeah no duhh!!!

then we agree - it's them mad-scientist, antichrist/gaytheist ones who go scooters and try to deny God and the Bible who we cast out their theories as batshit crazy!

thanks & welcome to my world!:-)

You eat hamburgers and chicken?

Maybe veggies do feel pain.

Hmmm, I did not say that.:) My point is which one would you say suffers more? One is let to die slowly, while the other is killed quickly. I eat meat, be it fish, cow, pig, etc... I have considered many times not eating meat, but can't make it more than a day, the damn carnivore in me.:)

I will take a look at your link when I have a better connection. My connection sucks lately. Topix works fine, but many websites won't load for me. With all of the ads on Topix that surprises me.

I was for a month, it was a PETA challenge. Two of my boys told their teachers I was starving them because I cut out meat and I ended up needing to explain some very simple nutritional concepts to government employees. It was a fun time but I missed bacon ever so terribly.

Ah, kids tall tales and the lovely government employees. Enough said, Lol.

That would be my daughter. She actually tried to go vegetarian also. She made it about a week. Bacon was her biggest downfall.:)

I suggest that you visit a slaughterhouse and a chicken processing plant.

You'll be in for a surprise.

You're not wrong and one thing I found myself asking was if a teaching degree covered psychology and food science. It doesn't. Uppity cows and the joys of being a single mother.

Yeah, when I crash landed off of that wagon, bacon was the culprit.

I found a compromise, good thing there are a lot of local farms around.
