Hiding,
I am not here to play games. If I did what you said, then I have already won a million games. Lmao. Ignoring them is what I usually do. But, I am here to lead and teach about God, Jesus, and the message of love. Abortion is not love, as many other things aren't.

Hey all you believers, there is a good bumper sticker/slogan.

Abortion is not love

Christianity-speaking, it has a soul from the moment of conception.
Show me objective evidence for this soul and I might agree with you. Otherwise what Christianity thinks about it is no more to the point of what any other religion might say about it.

Agreed. So long as they pay for it themselves. There's too much emotions involved to make it covered by tax money.
So poor people aren't allowed to make mistakes because it's too emotional? Huh? If a poor woman is raped should she be forced to carry the child to term and will an anti-abortion conservative be forced to adopt it?

Unless there are to be special rights only for the religious, this policy should also allow unbelieving employers to impose their irreligious beliefs on their employees as well. I would suggest that if such an employer were offended by religion and found that any of the compensation package that he was providing was going to support religion, such as into a collection plate, that the employer be allowed to prevent that, which in this case means replacing the employee with one who doesn't give any of his paycheck to churches on the grounds that it violates his personal beliefs to support religion.
How do you feel about that?
"Special rights"? I thought conservatives didn't like those.

In response to your earlier post to me:
I agree that our audience here on Topix is primarily other skeptics, or potential skeptics. I wouldn't count most theists as potentials. That would make our objective learning and teaching. At most, we are providing social pressure to move those theists that are still capable of being moved, from one point in the Christian spectrum to a point closer to us.
In a different environment, where we could address scores of Cultural Christians or moderate Christians, we might have some success trying to change minds. It would require a slightly softer and more considerate approach.
And in your case, I don't think you should change a thing, because of what you represent.
Ah, thanks Tide :)

I honestly don't feel like it's my right to change Christian's minds. If they are happy being Christian, I'm glad for them.

What I don't respect is willful ignorance. Unfortunately, religion furthers that social illness. So I fight it and sometimes, in the doing, end up fighting religion. Ha! Just kidding. I will argue with religious people whenever I can. It's kind of fun.

However, I do respect well-educated and careful, thoughtful religious people. And religious people who do not impose their views on others.

But I truly despise ignorant religious people who push their ignorant, immoral agendas on others.

Such people I cannot abide.

You dragged me into this argument. And you apparently did so without any argument whatsoever, just some stupid, thoughtless religious position you keep blasting over and over.

Do you have anything to add, any justification for your beliefs, or just the above?

Fair enough, Wilde. I call them funny-mentalists.
The Hindus are pretty cool, actually. Polite enough and I found them interesting to talk to about theological stuff, they don't try to shove it down your neck. Some of it does sound like a fantasy novel tho.
In my limited experience Hindus are generally nice. When we were in India we went to Mathura, which is the birthplace of Lord Krishna (one of the incarnations of Vishnu). They have a large temple there and a sort of theme park that you walk through that tells the story of his life. It's the one of the most random, bizarre, and surreal things I've seen in a long time. It certainly trumps anything that the Abrahamic religions claim.

Exactly. You can live a horrible life and still go to heaven, and you can live a moral life and go to Hell. Hardly a system of ethics I'm going to sign up for anytime soon.

Illegal abortion would be murder if and only if fetuses were defined as human beings with rights to life.
A fetus is a human life, is it not? Why should it have less rights than any other human?

Only if one believes in God.

Many who so surely blame God although few ever express that thought for fear of condemnation. Heck, Christians can't even accept that God of the OT is a murdering sociopath.

Of course there is, if you are a Christian and commit murder and rape you get to Heaven.
If you aren't a Christian and spit on the sidewalk you are tortured for eternity in Hell.

An Atlanta high school is in hot water after a teacher was caught showing students an illustration suggesting that evolution is a work of Satan and that creation is a work of Christ.

The illustrated cartoon was shown during a freshman biology class at Henry W. Grady High School in May. The image also associates humanism, homosexuality, pornography and abortion with evolution and Satan.
