Yo, folks! Ever notice how many times Susie DeMented needs to remind herself and the rest of us of her "degrees?" Yet half the time she's incapable of constructing a proper sentence?
Kaitlin, regardin you and RR's discussion about fact and belief...

Do you think it is a fact, or a belief that Double Fine is the most infinitely awesome and incredible humble person ever to exist?

Plugging these values into PV = nRT, we get
(2.19 atm)(10.07 L)=(1.43 moles)(0.082 L-atm /K -mol)(T in K)
Solving for T
T =(2.19 atm)(10.07 L)=23.43
(1.45 moles)(0.082)*( L 10.07-atm)/(K-mol)= 185K
You changed my 1.43 to 1.45 right there. Using 1.45 will give you a result of 185.48 °K. So I went back and checked my work again. I had written:

"the molecular weight of O2 is 32 g/mole. 46.5 g of O2 at 32 g/mole is 46.5 / 32 = 1.43 moles of gas"

46.5 / 32 actually equals 1.453, an error nobody caught, including you. Yet somehow, this more correct figure magically appears in your final calculation. How do you account for that change and you not commenting on it if not by copying the final line from another source, which is obviously your professor's supplied answer?

It is you that is the fraud.

Sorry, Christian, but it is you that is the fraud and liar.

You know, many of the poster already did the math and they all know I told the truth.
Truth? You have misrepresented yourself all along. It's quite clear what has happened here. You have been waiting almost 2 weeks for help from your teacher. It finally came, and you copied his final line and stuck it onto my work. This is why it took almost two weeks for you to provide anything, why your early steps include my error of 1.43, and why that value morphed into 1.45 without comment from you. You didn't notice that my work and your professor's work contained different values for n (moles of O2).

You sicken me. You have no integrity, and no mathematical skills. You copy your work and aren't smart enough to see that it is obvious that you have.

The atomic weight of oxygen is 16 g/mole, so the molecular weight of O2 is 32 g/mole. 46.5 g of O2 at 32 g/mole is 46.5 / 32 = 1.43 moles of gas, which is "n" in the Ideal Gas Law PV = nRT.

Are you still claiming that this is your work? It has my error in it. Where did you get that figure 1.43 if not by copying my error, Christian?
Susie D wrote:
On the moles you have to convert the moles but in this case it is 1.45… If you want to do it yourself
Go to http://www.endmemo.com/chem/mmass.php plug in O2 and the weight is 46.5.. push calculate and the number of moles will appear… 1.45.. NOT the mole mass but the Mole
Make sure you click K for Kelvin on both the blue and pink parts to reveal the answer in the pink
Yes, you used a calculator and it gave you 1.45. But you never noticed that this figure was different from the 1.43 you copied form me. You prance about criticizing me for copying my work from online calculators, and then recommend one to me to use. If I had done that, I wouldn't have made an arithmetic error. And if you weren't in a waking coma, you would have noticed this, called me on the error, and made the appropriate changes in the lines you copied from my post.

You would be ashamed if you were capable of it.

Integrity - what I have shown here throughout, and what you have lacked. I did all of my own work, found my own errors, and brought the to the attention of the thread. Those are my values.

You, on the other hand, have no idea what you are doing mathematically, stole the work of others and represented it as your own, and have hypocritically condemned the use of online calculators that only you used.

What accounts for these differences between us? I have to assume that it's our divergent backgrounds. You were taught ethics by your church.

Perhaps it's because they get too many untalented people for their teachers. They need to spend more on teachers if they want better outcomes. I know about five active or retired elementary or middle school teachers. None of them is what I would call gifted. Actually, none of them can communicate effectively, and none of them seems to know very much about anything. That seems like exactly the opposite of what a teacher should be.

I love teaching, and thought I would have made a good one, but I never considered being a teacher once I learned how little they were valued.

Teaching is actually an important part of clinical medicine, just as much as is eliciting a relevant history from a medically unsophisticated patient, maintaining an extensive and current data base of diseases, diagnostic modalities, and therapeutic options, and problem solving by synthesizing them all together and arriving at a conclusion. The combination of scientific and people skills attracted me to clinical medicine, not to mention the respect, the income, and the autonomy.

But that conclusion is of no benefit to a patient if s/he can't understand it, fears it, or distrusts it. A physician needs to be able to connect with patients and teach them effectively to be effective.

Of course, they eroded away at all of that, which is why people like me fled or are fleeing the profession. I quit at age 55 because I could.

I am still drawn to teaching, but now I do it for free. Like many others, I do it on Topix, where I try to share my education and insights on a variety of subjects in a way that people can understand and absorb.

And I have been teaching bridge twice a week since December. I just learned the game starting two years ago, but I'm a pretty quick study. It took me from April 2012 when I started until the end of that year to accumulate 10.3 master points (it takes 300 to be a life master). I didn't win much at first, but I started to get the hang of it in 2103. I'm at about 180 master points now.

I teach bridge Wednesday afternoons and Friday mornings. I get great satisfaction doing it, and a lot of enthusiastic feedback, just as I did in my professional work. It's a similar skill set as that in medicine. You need a huge data base for bidding and playing the hands, analytic skills to determine who holds what and how to maximize outcomes, and now, as a teacher, the ability to organize and impart knowledge to others at their level.

I would love to help kids in a classroom like yours, but that is obviously can't happen.

And IANS answer is less than 2% off.

If your answer isn't exact, but is acceptable...why do you make such a case that IANS's answer isn't exact but is unacceptable? IANS's answer is pretty good for a ballpark figure.

Methinks thou protest too much.

This is not the Federal case you have been trying to make of it.

The 184.7 figure is from my own work, which I showed a few days ago. I used figures to 5 significant digits.

BTW...dear Susie tried to tell me that "significant digits" = "decimal places". So wrong.
