You sound like a repeating record. A programmed robot spouting off Richard Dawkins one liners. Talk about a brainwashed scrooge. Another internet big mouthed punk.

I think Im gonna come through your computer and give you a well deserved beat down !

.......and evolution theory still has much to explain but with some imagination you can put the puzzle together without all the pieces. Just have faith. Keep pecking away at your keyboard monkey and with some luck and chance, you might type something intelligent.

Yes, religiously retarded redneck, evolution is a PROVEN and VERIFIED scientific theory denied only by the world's most staggeringly ignorant brainwashed godbots such as you. Do you take great personal pride in making a complete ass of yourself in an international forum, kid?

"At the heart of evolutionary theory is the basic idea that life has existed for billions of years and has changed over time. Overwhelming evidence supports this fact. Scientists continue to argue about details of evolution, but the question of whether life has a long history or not was answered in the affirmative at least two centuries ago."

No you haven't.

The bible is not evidence, and jesus is a myth. I showed you that.
<quoted text>
Then you have no faith.
<quoted text>
No, I need sufficient reason to believe; you fail to provilde it.
<quoted text>
I have no need to impose my strega beliefs on you; you, on the the other hand, need to impose your christian beliefs on me in order to further validate them in your own mind. My refusal raises your own doubts, even if only for a moment---which is just enough to shake you up.
<quoted text>
No I don't.
You, however, give your air of superiority a little too much credit, though.
<quoted text>
Sure it is.
<quoted text>
Seems to me like you do. Otherwise, you wouldn't be making such a big deal out of it.
<quoted text>
What stopped you from reaching the conclusion that Herakles was the Son of Zeus? I mean, it's basically the same myth, but nearly a thousand years older.
<quoted text>
Closed-minded, huh? It's a common christian trait.
(j/k)
<quoted text>
I don't think so.
You still feel a need to get me to join your side. Why?
I don't need you to. If you're happy on your side, be happy on your side. I'm just here to correct your misconceptions for the sake of others.:)

Christianity is over 40,000 cults, each one believing that there interpretation of their version of the babble is the only correct one.

And if you actually knew anything about christianity other than the bits you want to hear you would not even make that claim.

Three posts, 1475 words all totaled, and you claim you are *not* attempting to validate your own beliefs here by attempting to impose them on us?
I don't get how you think I'm validating my own beliefs. I demonstrated how historical documents can be cross referenced with each other to arrive at the most plausible conclusion. Apparently you missed my post last week when I discussed literary devices and how they help identify a writer and the writer's purpose. As for imposing them, I'm offering what I believe, in light of, and consistent with, the historical evidence. You don't have to accept it. I'm confident enough that I'm correct. You're confident that you're correct. Neither one of us is going to yield to each other. I can agree to disagree. I can't force you to be correct.:)
Kaitlin the Wolf Witch wrote:
As for your "eyewitness accounts," there were none. Thomas Paine proved that with his "Age of Reason." I suggest you read it *before* you burn it.
I've read it, and Thomas Paine didn't prove it. Thomas Paine offered his commentary, commensurate with his personal philosophical worldview. If you feel it was proved, then it's because you already have a presupposition to agree with it. That's not the case with my conversion. I came from agnosticism in which I too scoffed at the idea that a savior would die for me. I wasn't as outspoken as you, but until I took a look with a truly open mind, I was as resistant as you are.

Once I evaluated the gospels as ancient historical documents with very strict, yet realistic criteria, I came to believe that the historicity is valid, and is more plausible than competing arguments.

Did you know that Jesus mythicists are in a very small minority among atheist historical scholars? That's right. Even atheist historical scholars look at Jesus Mythicism with contempt, because that's all it deserves. And that's why the majority of people who believe it are right here on the internet. They get laughed out of real scholarly communities. If you want to doubt Jesus is the son of God, go ahead. Doubt away. But if you want to be regarded as credible among scholars, then acknowledging the historical existence of Jesus will keep you from being laughed at.

Hello Evolving- I appreciate what you're saying, but you're wasting your bandwidth if you think you're going to reach this nut job. He types out the same stuff day after day after day with no variation and no intelligent dialogue. To his closed mind, the matter is settled, and anyone who challenges him is a punk or a redneck or a homophobe or this or that or blah blah blah blah blah.

I keep pissing him off for my own amusement. I have a goal. It has something to do with blood pressure.:)

HA HA!!

I've seen him post this a thousand times:

"Do you take great personal pride in making a complete ass of yourself in an international forum, kid?"

He used to write; "100% wrong!" all the time. Shame that he doesn't any more. I used to reply to him; "99.7% right!!"

lol

Well, there's faith and then there's faith---reasonable faith, and unreasonable faith. I have more faith in an astronomer who can give me an approximate age the the universe than I do in some christian pastor who tells me that all the answers to all the questions are in the buybull.
I bequeathed my share of the word faith to the religious. What you call reasonable faith I call justified belief, such as the belief that my airplane will probably land safely and the wine it sells me won't be poisoned. Calling beliefs like that and god beliefs, angel beliefs, hell beliefs, and the like by the same word "faith" blurs the radical distinction between them, which is undoubtedly the advantage the religious see that makes them like to do so.

<quoted text>
There is a reason it is repeated, and not only by Dawkins

The reason is evolution is repeated proven by several different and independent methods, those methods are freely peer reviewed and accepted by not only science but many of the non scientific community including the vast majority of christianity. Whereas goddunit wiv magic is not.

And you have the gall to claim evolution has much to explain when you cannot explain a damn thing about your faith.

And if you feel you want to threaten me too then feel free but I suggest you read topix Toc’s about what is and what is not appropriate behaviour

Honey I am not the one claiming they have the goal of raising someone’s blood pressure to cause harm.

That my dear was one of you lovely and tolerant christian lot.

BTW, the reason I have been off topix for most of the week is because my father had a stroke at weekend. There, I hope that makes you feel better about your attempt at sarcasm.

I found something interesting....

JRR Tolkien died in 1973.
Reverse that, you get 3791.

3 rings for the elves.
7 rings for the dwarves.
9 rings for the humans.
1 ring to rule them all.....

Trip out.

Oh definitely. Suzie has behaved unconscionably. Had she simply admitted her mistake, she may have retained whatever passes for dignity in her circle. To wrongly accuse you of something she has in all likelihood attempted and failed, especially when you were trying to help, then refuse to even attempt the formula, well, she should not be able to get away with it. I don't care what some fancy invisible zombie might or might not think about the issue. Then, to top it off, she starts flinging false accusations at several parties, in a pathetic attempt to divert the attention from her "sins".

This type of manipulative and hypocritical christian behaviour has been tolerated for far too long.
Agreed. Proselytizing Christians behaving badly need to be called on it, and their religion that claims the moral high ground with them.

I hope to get rational answers, but I take whatever I get. Is Andet incapable of providing a rational answer?

Why shouldn't I "expose" a Christian if that useful?
