Yep. Bears are so clever and surprisingly gentle creatures.
I love nature and that includes the various animals that are part of that nature. I also agree with all the comments regarding territory, we defend ours too.
I haven't had many negative experiences with animals though, they seem to love me as much as kids do and I'll take children and animals over most adult humans any day.
Must be a clown thing *rolls eyes*.
We have no bears in the UK, hunted out hundreds of years ago.

I spend hours/days just walking in the country/mountains (in fine weather, not often enough in the UK), it’s a passion of mine. Larger wildlife is fairly sparse with the exception of birds and the odd fox.

Over the channel in mainland Europe things are a little different, much more wild space, deer, boar etc are an everyday sight and there are a few bears but I’ve not seen any.

You're biased against Christianity, that means a logical discussion with you is impossible.

You LOL.. Going on about "logical discussion"... HAHAHAHA!

The atheist quoteslified the Bible as if he knows what it means......
No reader of the bible is any more or less qualified to decide what its words mean.

With so much science and archeology revealing the bible to be the mythological work that it is, the book has become a problem for those claiming that it has anything to do with a god, and an embarrassment for those that base their lives on it as if it were. Naturally, such people would want to try to effect damage control by telling others how they need to understand it - which parts to treat as allegory - as if the authors knew that the words were not correct when they wrote them.

But that isn't working very well, is it?

I've already showed you my collection of efforts to do that from right here on Topix. You're on it twice.

I came to that conclusion because exactly what I prayed for happened.
Amazing coincidence for prayer being answered? I believe the latter.
In testing, prayer seems to be just as powerful no matter who or what you pray to. The only demonstrable effect of prayer that has been found is psychosomatic.

What exactly did you pray for?

Do you believe that your deity changes its plans when people ask for things in prayer? Do you believe that your deity would know what people would ask without them having to ask?

If there is a plan that does not change, because your deity knows all, asking for anything is pointless. If you ask for anything that isn't in the plan, you aren't going to get it. If you ask for something that is in the plan, it would have happened without you asking.

There is a lot of potential for unnecessary damage when you think there is power in prayer, like when you rely on it instead of something reliable, like medicine.

Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence.
God has proven Himself to me and billions of other people across thousands of years.
Bus absence of evidence is evidence of absence of evidence

But who was talking about evidence?

I was talking about logic

What you think is entirely your affair, imagination is not proof of evidence. And I did not realise you were thousands of years old, very biblical.

The character of your deity is a reflection of the culture that produced it, just like all other deities.
Okay, you've almost got me convinced.

You have to prove to me that the men who wrote the Bible also invented God.

Attack? Really? You sure are thin skinned.

In any event, they used to call Yahweh a ghost in my church - a holy ghost. Can you tell me how your god differs from a ghost?

As far as being deliberately insulting about your religion and its church, I haven't posted anything about it that I didn't believe was correct and that I didn't support with evidence and argument. Much of that is highly critical and would likely offend you, but I can't let that be a factor..
