Yep. Bears are so clever and surprisingly gentle creatures.
I love nature and that includes the various animals that are part of that nature. I also agree with all the comments regarding territory, we defend ours too.
I haven't had many negative experiences with animals though, they seem to love me as much as kids do and I'll take children and animals over most adult humans any day.

I spend hours/days just walking in the country/mountains (in fine weather, not often enough in the UK), its a passion of mine. Larger wildlife is fairly sparse with the exception of birds and the odd fox.
Over the channel in mainland Europe things are a little different, much more wild space, deer, boar etc are an everyday sight and there are a few bears but Ive not seen any.
