Why should I? This is not necessary, since there was never any god at all.

Yes she is. She deliberately interpreted a post from me as being a "threat" when it was nothing more than a warning to Karl to get off his high horse before somebody knocks him off of it. She didn't take into account that I live in the eastern United States and he lives in western Canada. She replied solely on the basis that he represents her views and I'm the opposition. It's that whole school yard mentality. They want to bully others but don't like it when we take the chip off their shoulders. This doesn't apply to all of them.
Ain't, Scaritual, wordofme, Kaitlin, Aura Mytha, and Tide are all capable of engaging in decent conversation, and do so on a regular basis.
Karl, Scrooge, and Divinity Surgeon take pride and joy in being as nasty as possible to others and bask in the illusion that they are above reproach. Not so fast. Some of us hit back.

I know Baptist that believe they are saved in Grace. there is a Baptist Bible College close to my house, one which Susie, I had been accepted to before the state had other plans for furthering my education. I ain't trying to lead a crowd anywhere susie, He!1, if Jesus can't lead you, then I sure can't. Susie, you called yourself "Liberal" your own words, not mine. you casting blame there ain't you? Now you're trying to lead me to follow Jesus, when you can't get it right yourself..I believe in Christ but I have no respect for religion, as it has nothing to do with Jesus. Jesus nor his true followers would have had anything to do with it. Your view of what Jesus taught and your view of what that teaching was/is are totally different. you Twist that mans teaching into what you want it to mean, rather than what it actually means, therefore you are a "Liberal Christine" I am not faulting you, only trying to understand your thought of Jesus, and Susie, it seems pretty Liberal to me!
Jesus turned "religion" on it's ear. Religion had become corrupt because of the ruling Sanhedrin (Pharisees and Sadducees) of the Temple in Jerusalem. This is why Jesus turned the tables twice in the Temple. The second time He did so was a clear message to the Sanhedrin that Jesus was sitting in judgement of them. According to their beliefs, this action was a symbolic equivalent of "I am God and I judge you."

Caiaphas didn't exactly like that. His family had an economic stranglehold on the Temple treasury and his political influence was widely felt throughout Judea. He had been appointed High Priest by the Romans and so became a religio-political powerhouse. This is why Jesus called them "Sons of Vipers." And this is why Caiaphas wanted Jesus dead.

Jesus himself knew there was no way that religious representatives of God and politicians should become allies. He was the first to advocate separation of church and state by His actions and words.

Hey, DF.
Coverage of the trial here has been dwarfed by the missing airplane saga.
My take? Interesting lawyering, but guilty.
Yo Catch!

Let us forget for a second that Manchester United plays football (hey, that is not far from the truth)

I have heard about the airplane saga, now that is some weird stuff. Planes do not just disappear. I am trying hard to come up with one scenario that fit the facts and I have come to the logical and just conclusion that Jesus beamed the airplane up, as he needs a 777 for his collection. Either that, or ge wants him some Malaysian stewardesses. That is highly plausible.

As for mr. Pistorius.... I think the lawyering was purdy good (IMHO, of course). Roux, the defence attorney, is going at pains to try and prove that the witnesses talked about the case with each other, it seems. Not working, I am afraid. I honestly believe that the prosecuting attorney should have made a lot more objections to the assumptions and wordgames that Roux is getting into.

The ballistics expert, Mangena, I believe was a fantastic witness and he tore Roux a second one.

Here is my take: the fact that Oscar was on the ground when he fired the shots, may take away the premeditation aspect. I cannot see anybody planning to kill anyone, would do so while having to crawl on the ground. It may still be murder; premeditated? I am doubtful. The point may be moot; even if he strikes it lucky and avoids murder, he will almost definitely be found guilty of culpable homicide. In SA, that is ten years. Then, all the gun related offences? 2-5 years apiece. I cannot see Oscar escaping with anything less than 15 years.

Anyway, which explanation for your post did you want to go with? Did you want to claim to have dumbed your post down to make it more interesting, or that you were distracted by your daughter?

I'll bet it's because we eat out a lot.
I'm curious as to why you believe Dave Nelson is dead? In his final post, he simply states he was going off-line. I see no ominous hidden message here. Perhaps he just grew weary of Topix and decided to leave as many others have over the years.

You want to use Jeffery as example of what?

I am insufficiently familiar with your legal system, so it's difficult for me to evaluate the prosecutor's strategy. But I agree that it looks like a sure conviction. Pistorius is certainly a violent individual.

Yes, ManU is in real trouble, especially now with van Persie out. The player of the year is clearly Suarez by the way, it's not just the number of goals, but the quality and beauty of his play.
He and Sturridge work very well together, too.

Yes, He made a very powerful statement to them regarding himself. "The very pages you find life in, speak of me" His meaning was clear and at whom it was directed.

Okay, I'm going to ask a rhetorical question. No need to answer. I'm just putting it out there.

Why is it that atheists want to point to the bad things that some Christians have done as an excuse to dismiss God and yet get so angry when we point at things that infamous atheists have done?

I know why. It takes a lot of the wind out of your sails to accuse us of things and yet have to acknowledge that atheists have collectively done much worse.

You seem to want to have it all your way, and we're not going to allow that.

Whether or not God exists is secondary to many topix atheists if indeed it carries any importance at all.
Their motivation is to strike out at those they have felt persecuted by. To annoy and damage those who they perceive as their tormentors. Those who rejected their "life choices"etc.Put simply many are just angry at those who rejected them so they take every opportunity to piss on everyones corn flakes as it were.
Like the scoffers aren't wasting their time here? Really? IANS and his flock haven't converted anybody on Topix yet, all they do is hiss and spit their venom at anybody who believes different than they do. With some making more than 60 to 85k posts just to spew their hatred is seriously committed hatred, only appealing to those with similar mental disorders.

How true, and not only this, but they they resort to vile name calling, personal attacks and then cry foul when the favor is returned. They say, you are Christian so you MUST take our outrage and abuse and sit quietly and take it.. They are bullies. Thats what I find to be the hypocritical of all. I do not have to take anyone's abuse and that does not make me less Christian.. That makes me feisty and they cannot handle it :)

It's a shame that none of you ever got what you deserved for harassing and terrorizing that poor woman offline. Did it make you feel like "real" men, harassing a senior citizen AND her elderly mom? Was it better for you than Viagra? Yeah, we all know how the minds of predators work.
