One that considers themself agnostic can be receptive to the notion of faith.

By not considering themself agnostic, they shallow their faith.

Just a thought.

Would "a-poly-theist" make more sense?

Just making crap up.

Cause I can too, RR.

Back later.

It's too nice out for this.

There's a trail laying around here somewhere that needs hiked.

<quoted text>Again, agnosticism refers to knowledge. That is a popular usage, and it can be used that way, but the way I just described it is also correct. You are an agnostic theist, unless you claim to know for a fact that god exists. Is that your position? In that case, please justify it. If you can't, you are an agnostic theist. And I am an agnostic atheist, since I do not know for sure that a god doesn't exist, but don't believe in one.
Bull.

An agnostic theist (lol) is a person that believes in a god but also believes that knowledge, any knowledge, of that god is unknowable.

That isn't me.

<quoted text>They do? In what way does my disbelief in a god affect your life? Does it compare to the ways in which religious belief *actually* affect people's lives. Have you ever been denied the ability to marry because of a massive campaign ran by atheists? Have you ever lived in a society where it is considered socially acceptable for the president to call you subhuman?
Probably not you personally, but atheists fight tooth and nail to get Christianity removed from everything they can.

That affects my life.

Must I go into detail?

That cross has been there since 1906. It's a landmark for the people of Riverside. Well, all except for a few whining atheists.

It was not removed. The public land was auctioned off and a Christian man bought it and kept the cross there.
How am I being stupid, RR?
By calling a Christian an atheist.

By calling anyone an atheist because they don't believe in all gods ever thought up.
How many gods do you not believe exists? None? One? More than one?
One.

God.

Some fight to prevent christianity from being endorsed by the government, some fight to undo illegal and or unwarranted intrusions of christian morality into the law, and some fight to prevent religion from being taught to children as fact (among other things). Does it really "affect your life" when your gay people are allowed to marry, or when christian symbols are removed from government buildings? Do you think it is your right as a christian to break the rules simply because this is a mostly christian country? You aren't persecuted for your beliefs, you don't have to worry about your rights being taken away by some fanatical atheist movement, and you certainly don't have to worry about open, culturally encouraged bigotry against you simply because of your beliefs.

But you whine because you don't get to have a ten commandments plaque in front of every courtroom.

Then your "way of life" was preserved.

It's private land now.

Sounds like an equitable arrangement was made.

Stop whining.
By calling a Christian an atheist.
Didn't call you an atheist, per se.

You're only one kind of theist.

It's reasonable to speculate that you're at least one kind of atheist.
By calling anyone an atheist because they don't believe in all gods ever thought up.
You are atheist with regard to those gods you don't believe exist.

I don't see why that's so difficult for you to accept.

Unless it's more a matter of fear of a word.
One.
God.
You believe one god... "God"... doesn't exist?

Go back and read my post for comprehension.

I just returned from a walk in the woods... national forest... public land.

On the trip down to the trail head, one notices several small signs attached to roadside trees... y'all know the sort... tidbits of what "God" wants and what Jesus can do for ya and how real Hell is and this or that Bible verse, like "John 3:16" or something pleasant from Revelations.

I'm considering conducting an experiment...

I'll hang a few of my own... things like "Psalms 137:9" and "1 Peter 2:18".

Any suggestions? Not gonna go overboard... let's say 5 small plank-signs.

We can start a pool to see who can guess the date they each get knocked down.

Alan... whadaya think?

It's not endorsed, never has been.

[QUOTE] some fight to undo illegal and or unwarranted intrusions of christian morality into the law,
Such as?
and some fight to prevent religion from being taught to children as fact (among other things).
Only to replace it with the grand knowledge of gay sex.

Nice.

No.

No.

Bullshit. Atheist movements like FFRF are hell-bent on removing Christianity.

and you certainly don't have to worry about open, culturally encouraged bigotry against you simply because of your beliefs.
Haha!

I'm sure you'd like it if all of us Christians just shut up and let you atheists tear down what we've been building for 2,000 years.

Ain't gonna happen.
Didn't call you an atheist, per se.

Of course we'd take them down.

We understand that ignorant atheists cherry pick Scripture.

We wouldn't want you to represent atheists, now would we?
