Okay, now give us your opinion of Jerry Springer.

I thought you were talking about Pat Robertson. The two *are* pretty much equally believable. Or nonbelievable.
I have no love or respect for Pat Robertson. Zilch. Zero.

It is important for Christians to see where their Bible fails them. They waltz in here all convinced of its inerrancy so I show them the errors, and clearly they are stupid for not knowing the errors exist. They are Christians because they are ignorant of the Bible.
How do you like it when someone tells you you are going to hell because you do not believe the silly stories their mother told them?
Yeah their ministers don't dare bring up the inconsistencies to be found in their bible.

I once read a quote by a minister in a protestant church who had gone to a famous theological school...the gist of it was: "If you graduate and still believed in God...then you weren't paying attention."

It's kinda sad, actually.
Lol

First of all, Isis wasn't a virgin, as your fellow Christian hater claimed.

Second, Horus was supposedly born during the month of Khoiak (Oct/Nov).

You'd be wise to do your own research before blindly believing him.

Poor baby.
Stop talking to me. I have referenced the posts to you several times, and your best defense has been the absurd implication that I somehow went back and edited posts, even though topix doesn't allow editing. I think that's what you're saying, at least. It's hard to keep track of your nonsense.

Anyways, you're pushing a month with this. Are you really this obsessive?

"After almost 100 years of unremitting labor, the conclusion appears inescapable that neither Mithraism nor Christianity proved to be an obvious and direct influence upon the other in the development and demise or survival of either religion. Their beliefs and practices are well accounted for by their most obvious origins and there is no need to explain one in terms of the other."

The Mithras cult in Roman times was very widespread, and there is quite a bit of archaeological remains showing it existed. But nothing of its beliefs. It paralleled Christianity. It didn't show up until Christianity or very shortly after. It existed, but very little of it really exists today. So Christianity isn't the only religion not fully accounted for from that time.

Notice how Romanized the artwork is.

"The Mithraic Mysteries were a mystery religion practiced in the Roman Empire from about the 1st to 4th centuries AD.

Modern scholarship generally accepts the astrology-based, neo-platonic cult to have been a typically Roman invention, a product of the Roman Imperial religious world,[1] from the archaeological evidence likely founded in Rome itself, is and perhaps initially based on some pseudoepigraphic literature written under the name of "Zoroaster"—and so making a claim to have written by the Iranian prophet Zoroaster. "

Something happened back then. We just don't know for sure what.
