I can't say that I am surprised there have been no Topix atheists commenting on it.
Not their approved science.
No- it's not approved journalism.

I didn't comment on it because the Daily Mail is a tabloid along the same lines of our National Enquirer.

If you care to believe stories found in rags at supermarket checkout lines, that's your choice, just as it your choice to believe what is written in those rags.

Not to mention that that "scientist" didn't prove anything; he CLAIMS he did.

A claim does not a fact make.

HILARIOUS that you would consider the Daily Mail to be a reliable or factual news source.

Or else you didn't think anyone would notice you published the link to an article from that which represents yellow journalism.

Nice going, Dave.

They learn from their environment, their family, friends, teachers, TV shows, movies, magazines, etc.
I'm not a homophobe and I don't see conspiracies anywhere, let alone everywhere.
If a young boy learns that football is super fun, he'll probably like football all his life.
In turn, if a little boy learns that homosexually is super fun, he'll probably be homosexual all his life.
It's a learned trait, not an innate trait.
If a young boy learns that his parents want him to believe in Jesus he'll probably believe in Jesus all his life. That is learned behaviour. And it can be unlearned. That is why what I do I call Sunday School In Reverse.

Children are born with a sexual orientation that does not start participating in their consciousness until after 7 years of age. It is cast in concrete and can not be changed.

People falsely believe that they are a single individual I, a Master I, that is in charge of themselves and makes decisions and is always consistent and in harmony.

That is not true.

Instead we are a multitude of different contradictory little i's each taking turns pretending it is the Master I. This is why we say things like, "I changed my mind" or "I forgot."

In reality it is one little i being replaced with another little i that has a different agenda. What one i knows another does not know.

Each of us has little i's in us that may want to have gay sex or not. We may know nothing about them at all. Homophobes have large numbers of little i's in groups and this can terrify the other little i's who have no interest in gay sex at all.

No one knows themselves well enough to say for sure that somewhere way down deep inside, asleep in the corner, is a gay i. Looked at this way everyone is bi-sexual but because of Chirst-insanity most everyone denies their gay i's expression, and maybe their gay i only gets to be king of the mountain once in their whole lifetime, maybe never. What a person has been taught can do great damage to what a person is.

There are no rules about sex in this biosphere. The only good rule is mind your own business.

Nicely said. It is probably a good idea to take a look at those attackers because they are filled with many strong desires to have sex with members of their own sex and they are ready to attack anyone who reminds them of their deep secrets.

EXCLUSIVE: HBO to Develop 'Middlesex' as One-Hour Series
Rita Wilson, playwright Donald Margulies exec producing
By Melissa Grego -- Broadcasting & Cable, 7/6/2009 7:39:07 PM
HBO has optioned Jeffrey Eugenides' Pulitzer Prize-winning novel Middlesex and is developing a one-hour drama series based on the 2002 book.

Actor-producer Rita Wilson is executive producing, along with the project's writer Donald Margulies.

The working logline for the potential drama series being used internally at HBO is that it "follows the life of Calliope Stephanides and the epic family history that may hold the answer to her complicated sexual identity."

Margulies, known best as a playwright, won a Pulitzer Prize in 2000 for his play Dinner With Friends, which was made into an HBO telefilm.

If the Middlesex drama series follows the book's setting, it would take place largely in Detroit, where the main character grows up. HBO's recent comedy series entry, Hung, is also set in the Detroit area.

HBO declined to comment.

(The Middle Sex & an Experiment on Homophobia)
Psychiatrists from the University of GA, based after the murder of a transgender woman whose killers identified themselves as "not gay," conducted an experiment on several hundred men who identified as 100% heterosexual, and with never having had a same-sex encounter, and claiming never to have ever had a same-sex thought. So, these men were divided into control groups with a loop around their penis that measured their arousal to GAY PORN.

I wouldn't say your last comments were incorrect.
When a boy's thingy gets hard it is due to some excitement and not just curiosity.
The excitement at that age is just the sex drive being primed for the desire later. Now the pursuit of excitement at that age can lead to false desires and orientations. There are a lot of gay guys that can function with women. They just leaned to the easiest way to get relief early on.
It is called a penis Dave. And they get hard through out the day and during the night while one is sleeping because that is just what dicks do. You sound like you would like us to accept that you know something like what you are talking about.

Clearly when I read your words you are both misinformed and uninformed.

Few if any understand why some people find themselves attracted to men instead of women. And really stupid people invent all kinds of theories hoping everyone will applaud them and they will be famous.

It does not matter why someone is gay or straight, what a waste of time to bother with it, what does matter is that in a civilized country the Government protects the rights of the individual to engage in any peaceful activity with other consenting adults.

When gay people tell me that they were born attracted to members of their same sex I believe them because of how I experienced learning about sex for myself.

I wish it worked too. But clearly it doesn't despite what the Loony Tunes want us to accept.

Since RR claims to be a real and true believer, perhaps he can ask God for you?

"Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened"--Matt. 7:7-8, Luke 11:9-10;

"Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you"--John 16:23;

"And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive"Matt. 21:22.

John 14:13-14 NIV, "And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.

Mark 11:24 (KJV), "Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

If these promises aren't true how many other promises does the Bible make that are not true?

John 14:12-24(KJV), "Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father."

Didn't Jesus bring the dead back to life? Surely RR believeth on Jesus, and no one believes Jesus is a liar. So we need to ask RR to restore your arm. Surly restoring an arm is easier than bringing someone back from the dead, wouldn't you think?

How about it RR? Prove to us that Jesus is telling the truth, use your Christianity for some good for a change.

Go!

<quoted text>OMG- one cannot learn something without first having been taught.
You wanna nit-pick since you're so good at it? Fine.
No, RR- they do NOT "learn". If that were true why are some people gay and not others? We ALL see the same things you mentioned for the most part.
And no- one does not "learn" that a game is fun. One may be "taught" the game but not find it to be fun.
Finding football or any other game to be a fun game is NOT taught.
You can't teach people to "learn" to like or dislike something.
Emotions are not taught, RR.
And as always, you're wrong yet again.
No one chooses (or learns) to be gay any more than anyone chooses (or learns) to be straight.
My football analogy is kind of like religious indoctrination in that a serious football fan, the dad, teaches his son from a very young age about how "super awesome" football is. Typically, a football fan is the offspring of a football fan. I don't watch football, and wouldn't you know it my kids don't either.

I think with homosexuality it works along the same lines. A lot of kids these days have homosexuality thrown in the face day in and day out, here in California we just passed the new while stating that transgendered kids can use whatever bathroom they want. What do you suppose it would do to second-grade girl when a second grade boy comes in the girls bathroom because he's "transgendered"?
