I *did* add that little caveat, and they took it down within about forty-five minutes.
Wiki is open to editing by its users; they admit that themselves.
That is kinda... the entire point of a wiki.

I just *had* to repost this line, I just HAD to:

Y'know, Ridley Scott's "Alien" is an *excellent* metaphor for the spread of fundamentalist christianity. They shove it in your face, down your throat, and then it kills its host as it "opens the heart" by bursting from the chest.

I had to take a quickie trip to our home in Mexico and just got back and I suspect that someone has already informed you of the obvious which is that drugs are running rampant through out our society today.
Why do you believe that if something is illegal less people will do it? Government can not change behavior and an intelligent person would know that. Therefore....
Legal or illegal nothing changes except tax dollars are not wasted, cops are less likely to be corrupted and lives are not ruined by the legal system.
I have to say RR, you are as stupid as Nancy Pelosi and the people who voted for her for making such statements.
Taking prescription drugs exactly as directly by your doctor is the 3rd leading cause of death in America. Look it up, I know you will. Fewer people are killed by street drugs than by doctors and no one has ever died from smoking pot.
What would you prefer? More prisons and more taxes? California already has the highest taxes on everything in the world.
We can easily make room in the prisons for all the druggies by simply executing murderers, pedophiles and rapists.

And taggers.

Don't need proof to believe that.

You have no proof your god exists.

Compare a dream YOU HAD to your god.

That's right, RR.

That's what you're telling me.

You have no proof of your dream.

You have no proof of your god.

There isn't any.

Your dreams exist only in your head.

You gave me reason to believe your god exists only in your head.

You said so.

You compared it to a dream.

<quoted text>Ohmygoodness. You're still missing the point. Let's say it's 50/50 that the central tenets of modern science are right/wrong. The point is, passing along things that at least *seem* to be right is how knowledge increases. The reason we found out spontaneous generation was wrong was because we thought it was right - the reason people devised tests to disprove it was because other people thought it was true. A more contemptuous example - "classical" physics and quantum physics. When we found out that newtonian ideas simply didn't work the smaller you went, a new branch of science was founded to work out why this was - a branch of science that may well not have been pursued if not for us finding that the old ideas *couldn't* describe what we observe at very small scales.
What science boils down to is a process of ruling out what isn't true in slow progress towards what is. After we found out flies did not appear from meat, we knew one more thing about the universe. You are criticizing science because it corrects errors and works out problems, and I truly don't understand that. Do you expect everything to be 100% proven "fact" before it is ever uttered in public? If this was the case, how would we ever learn new things, if there was never any knowledge to challenge/refine?
I know what you're saying and I agree.

What I don't agree with is science hurriedly telling people in haste of a "new fact" they've discovered, only to find out that it was never a fact at all.

Like: coffee is good for you, not it's bad for you, no wait a new study says it's good for you, no wait another new study says only Columbian coffee is good, no wait that study was wrong, too.

Some of the real big lies stand out, like Aristotle's spontaneous generation lie. Back then they thought it was real when it never was.

<quoted text>Drugs do "run rampant through society." There is nothing we can do to prevent people from using drugs if they want to use drugs. 50 years of failed drug prohibition has proven what alcohol prohibition had already showed us. Better we accept that fact, and go for harm reduction instead of wasting billions of dollars hunting for and prosecuting nonviolent people. As an added bonus, the black market, and therefore all the associated violence, would disappear if drugs were regulated. Or do you still buy your alcohol from bootleggers?
I knew someone would beat me to it! Good answer. RR would rather navigate poorly maintained roads and have a prison in every city, town and village than let someone decide for themselves what they put into their own bodies.

Our Government is insane and they can not do the right thing because they can not learn from the past. Alcohol prohibition taught them nothing.

There is plenty of evidence that humanity exists and that the Universe did not put all its eggs in one basket. Have you ever looked out at the night time sky? How many more suns do you see than say at 12 noon?
Oh ya, you think the universe is an entity.

I don't even know what to do with that.

IMO - vegetarians are missing out!:o)
But since I eat only some veggies, I guess I can't spout out dislike openly, or people would find that to be weird. Y aknow what I mean?
I can't imagine myself in a speedo in front of the Farmer's Market protesting against mangos, now can i?

But those girls for PETA shore can give us good ol' boys a nice video to watch.*nudge-nudge, wink-wink*

One last time, let's see if you can understand.

I'm not comparing God to a dream, I'm only comparing the fact that you cannot prove a dream even though you know it exists and you cannot prove God is real even though you know He exists.

Stop trying to turn this around and PTAG me all f_cking day long, I've told you a thousand times that I cannot prove God to you and that if you want proof, you'll have to find God.

Now, compare that to a dream. Pretend you're telling me to prove that we can have dreams, ok?

Hukt: Prove people can dream.
RR: I can't.
Hukt: Then dreams don't exist.
RR: No, if you want proof, go to sleep. You'll see.
Hukt: OK, I slept. Still no dream.
