The future is a faith. There is no future unless you arrive there, and then it is always further than you can reach and hold. It is imaginary. Do you believe in imaginary things?

There is only the present and what you think you remember of a past.

Always.

Right. The one where kids are allowed to use their ipod to take math tests. No, wait, pardon me, that's here and now in the present. We're dumbing down our kids with technology. The power goes out and they can't function without their toys. We're one major solar event away from living like cavemen.

Well, I clearly clarified what I meant. Exactly how is that 'back pedaling'? You must think you are a master at semantics.

Have you tried to prove this lately? How did that proof work out for you? I am willing to guess not so good! Wishful thinking yes; inflated ego for sure, but a false (er, absurd) claim.

Yes; you called me a racist, and keep denying it.

There's this saying in the Marine Corps (dad's a retired master gunnery sergeant): "Unit, Corps, Country." My own version of that is, "Family, Circle, Country." In short, my tribe comes first.

I understand...I think...
But wait; you christians say "God" *is* the father of Jesus; Jesus is the Son of God. If you now disagree, then what *is* your religion all about?
Is it "God" or Joseph? Can't be both.

Most atheists believe that when you're dead, you're dead. E finito, game over, and that christians need to believe in jesus, god, heaven and all that.

I just saw a thing on the History Channel called "Science of the Soul," where among other things they made an outstanding case for reincarnation, and even provided a highly possible case for it. It was a fascinating program. Personally, I'd love to be able to see my loved ones who have passed on, while resting between physical lives.

But, if I may take the concept further...
Considering how little humans likely know or ever will know, what level of ego is it to believe that we can know of God or understand the creation of the universe?
Now, replace "God" with "elves." Both have the same amount of evidence as the other - that is, none at all.

Hint: the logic you are using can be used as effectively with suggesting the existence of elves as it can be with suggesting the existence of a god or gods.

Certainly not for you. Unless you were wrong about something. You have a good batting average on that, so you may luck out.

Your universe will start and stop with you. Your associating it with mankind or the concept of a future won't even exist.

"Future" is an expectation, not a "reality". Like they say, tomorrow never comes. Can't you understand that?

You believe in imaginary things. What comes next, a Creator?

You have quite an inflated self worth view of our species. Ironically, you sound as arrogant and condescending as any bible thumper I have ever heard.
.
As for the uncertainty principle - surprized you knew its name (must come up often for you?)- I will only repost what Werner Heisenberg had to say about it 25 years after he initially argued the concept. If you know he was wrong then you know more than I and I would like to see your supporting info.
:
"It can be expressed in its simplest form as follows: One can never know with perfect accuracy both of those two important factors which determine the movement of one of the smallest particles—its position and its velocity. It is impossible to determine accurately both the position and the direction and speed of a particle at the same instant" - Heisenberg, W., Die Physik der Atomkerne, Taylor & Francis, 1952, p. 30.
You were surprized the idioticalle knew of the uncertainty principle?

Absolutely. It's like how a lever and a fulcrum work, or figuring out the circumference of a circle; had no one ever discovered them, the principles themselves would still exist. I got that from reading Thomas Paine.

Smart guy.

So what did you mean then? You said that all jewish people have a right to be cautious around german people, and that if I disagreed with it I should go ask a holocaust survivor. In other words, you were making an incredibly cheap appeal to emotion. I've discovered that's all you really do. Insults and appeals to emotion.

About the reporter nonsense: at this point I just think you're messing with me. But if you promise to apologize for being a liar/selectively blind buffoon, I will go back and search for the several posts where I answered your pointless question. Deal?

No, I didn't accuse you of doing any such thing. Find the posts. They don't exist.

Finally, your assertion that I'm a "desperately lying liberal trying to save [my] ideology" really falls apart when I've probably been more critical of obama during this discussion than you. The difference is, you focus on tea party talking points like obamacare, and I focus on his human rights violations, war mongering, and lack of respect for privacy. But you're too worked up about what your talking heads tell you to be worked up about (obamacare) to even care about the real problems with this administration.
