Has been that way since "they" bottled it.
The Georgia Guidestones prove that there will always be elitist, secret societies hoping to control the lives of the rest of the world and as long as they exist then there will also always be those they're scorning, the "useless eaters", who may conspire to fight against that control. War will always exist even if religion gets wiped out by militant activists like IANS and his crew. It's the nature of man to strive against his fellow man regardless of differing spiritual ideologies. People will always find something to fight about, just look at any unhappy family.

Wise idea. It is just too bad we have to spend so much of our lives just worrying about something that might not happen, and then spend the rest of our lives trying to pay it off if it does.

You got that backwards dude...I'm trying to get rid of the elitist sucking up of the common mans dignity and wealth (such as it is).
It is the fundamentalist Republican, redneck, guntotin', send all the jobs overseas, fluck healthcare, take away the constitution, right wing @ssholes who are doing what you are sayin'
I'm an atheist (50 years now), and I want the rich and elite (which the right wing supports) to go sit on a sharp stick.
I also want real science, not religion, taught in school science classes. I'm not really against religion, I just want it to stay in its place, and OUT of politics and public schools.

Then be sure to include NO teaching of abiogeneis in your rants. In fact, you can include ALL theories. Unless they are a law they are speculation.

Theories can be taught ONLY in private institutions.

I think that lack of evidence for more than 5000 years IS actual proof.
Do you believe in magic??
Irving Copi (Google him)writes:
In some circumstances it can be safely assumed that if a certain event had occurred, evidence of it could be discovered by qualified investigators. In such circumstances it is perfectly reasonable to take the absence of proof of its occurrence as positive proof of its non-occurrence.
Would you consider someone who can't see the color blue a qualified observer of the sky?

Why would you then believe someone not able to sense presences of energy the majority of people do can be a qualified observer?

Be advised dark matter and energy can not be seen or detected. Only assumed to fit a model that is far from complete.

You don't understand what a scientific theory is do you?

Abiogenesis is pretty much a hypothesis now, not a theory.

I don't think 'creation science' or 'Intelligent Design' even rises to being a hypothesis

There are only 2 competing world views here...One is religious and has no proofs at all, and the scientific world-view which just incidentally has ALL the proofs that are now available to us.

LMAO!

Nothing is 'pretty much' a hypothesis. It either is or isn't.

There is no evidence that life can create itself.

In fact, just the opposite is correct; life must create life.

Sounds kinda'like 'New Ageee' stuff to me, but hey, you can believe whatever you want....doesn't bother me at all.

Just don't require everyone to believe and follow it, like some Christians are trying to do with legislation.

When I first registered to vote I didn't even know what I wanted to register AS, hesitated, so the guy taking my info chose for me, saying, "This here is a Democratic county, you're a Democrat now!" I was probably the only Democrat in the county who did NOT own a gun. FYI, there's a HUGE amount of Democrats in this country who are gun toting hillbillies. You need to get out in the real world more, grandpa.
Yeah, I grew up with the gun toting hillbillies my friend. I also voted Republican since the 60's....never again, with what they stand for now.

Things like that intrigue me.

Why don't we have records of such devices from before the recorded?

http://www.madehow.com/Volume-3/Hot-Air-Ballo...

That is how our modern ones started. Notice the materials used.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bartolomeu_de_Gu...

That is someone who proceeded the first link. Note the occupation.

How long have paper, linen, and fire pits existed? Or silk?

How long have men played with fire and watched heat and smoke rise?

How long do you supposed some, at a very minimum, over those thousands of years, would have done the same thing?

There is no doubt in my mind many the military minded would have loved something like that. All the way back to the beginning of warfare.

It is a no brainer to experiment with.

Yet our records say that is a modern invention.

I'm sorry I didn't meet your expectations for accuracy there about the hypothesis.

You don't know that life 'must always' come from life. You are just assuming that from your Christian beliefs. Of course I assume stuff too, but its comes from a background that has been proven true much more than your assumptions.

You trust science, I know you do.

All the scientific evidence we have to date tells us that life cannot create itself.

Why don't you trust science on that part?
