Which is what they did to the Gibson factories costing him millions of dollars for doing absolutely nothing wrong.

Silly details, always messing up your arguments.

I don't think anything besides the fact that your straw-man arguments wont solve the deadlock in Washington, make me agree with you , fix the economy , stop the recession or achieve any victory over anything. Good night and.... god bless you
More importantly, it shows how there is a portion of the US population is guided by ideology and ideology only. You have clearly illustrated how when that ideology is compared to reality, it falls apart very quickly.

"can a man love something
other than his self?"
of course he can.
take the price of meat out of the equation
then ask that question again,
the answer would be somewhat different,
i woud not be so sure.

If the government is not charging tax and promoting free trade, then that is a saving while toll roads are an expense. It is just an expense shift. It means that if you are an employee for someone, but you want to start a courier business that uses the roads, you'll have to factor tolls as an expense. If you are poor, then you shall have to save up a bit more before starting your business.
"Save up a bit more" from where? Your entire argument here rests on the idea that people have access to wealth from which to build their own wealth, which is simply not the case for most people in the US. The system you described is one that allows for incredible opportunities for the wealthy, and a "too bad for you!" attitude to those not born into wealth. In a country like the UAE with such a small population and the world's seventh-largest reserves of oil, though, wealth is much more readily available, a factor you are purposely ignoring.
True Truth wrote:
This "think of the children" attitude, while very rosy and humanity loving in the short term, is highly vulnerable to abuse and does nothing more than spoil the psychology of the population in the long term.
It has always intrigued me how the religiose are so quick to be uncaring towards those with less resources, despite at the same time claiming a moral superiority and obligation.

The system in the US has been damaged by irresponsible tax breaks for the folks with the most resources, hence the problems we are currently facing. The system is vulnerable to abuse, you are right, such abuse is more likely to occur when regulations that provide checks and balances are eliminated (i.e. deregulation).
True Truth wrote:
Society develops a childish scavenger attitude. No ambition, no sense of responsibility.[edited for length]
Do you get my point? There is no sense of responsibility, or family planning, of looking ahead, of ambition for a better life through hard work and responsible financial practice.
Here, though, you used a small subset of the population to serve as exemplary of society overall.
Are people going to abuse the system? Sure they are. What you are suggesting is that people in need be denied access to resources because of the irresponsible behavior of someone else who abused the system.
On top of that, you are assuming that folks with less resources are just lazy, which is simply not true.
True Truth wrote:
Now in Arabia, a bedouin arab lives nomadically. Highly vulnerable, no education despite good access to education. If his children are sick, he may have to watch them die. That is the life he chose. It sounds very terrible, but that is the basic principle of controlling ones life. If he doesn't want that life for his kids, he could've made it his ambition to educate them, to provide food and be able to afford health services, that his children have a better, more promising life.
Well, we have fundamentalist parents in the US who do not educate their children and deny them basic medical access too - but they or the Bedouins you are talking about are a terrible model to base the rest of society off of.
Again, what you are suggesting brings up serious ethical dilemmas.
True Truth wrote:
Just as we outgrow our parents care, we have to strive to outgrow the governments care. The government is our partner, not our parent or saviour.
Everyone depends on the government in one way or another. Some like to pretend that is not the case, though. For instance, some people get education in public institutions, be they schools or universities - that are funded by government monies - but yet denounce government assistance. Some people drive on roads made possible by government through taxes, but turn around and say they don't depend on government and denounce taxes. There are many more examples.

It is an inability to realize the help one has been given, instead feeling entitled to such.

Then you should understand that generally speaking, men have superior strength than women and women have superior agility than men.

You know the point I was making; there are times when more physical strength can be a detriment and a disadvantage. Therefore, it is wrong to say that more physical strength means one is superior to one of less physical strength.
A tiger's strength is no detriment.

I do.
And Timn17 is wrong. When someone shows a videotape clearly showing WWII vets being turned away from their own memorial because it's been closed by hateful politicians, it doesn't matter which network is showing it.
The only network to show it was Fox.
I respect Fox News and I used to watch it every day. I just got sick n tired of all the bad news that every news station reports. They've got a full hour most of the time, all they talk about is negative bullshit for 55 minutes then talk about lighthearted stuff for a minute or two at the end.

Ugh I hate the news.

I know libs hate Fox News because they talk about everything the libs don't want people to know. The same goes for radio guys like Limbaugh or Jon & Ken. Love those guys.

What is wrong is that there is something very seriously wrong with YOU.

Naw, I dig it medium well.

You know what though, when I was a teenager I worked at a steak restaurant. One time a customer ordered a steak super extra rare. He literally told me to tell the cook to just cook it long enough to get the lines on the steak from the grill, about 2 minutes. We all watched that dude eat a bloody piece of raw meat. It was gross.
