Why else would you think I have such a low opinion of weak minded drunks like you that can't handle reality?
Well, not to but in. Double Fine believes he is probably the biggest ex boozer on here. Double Fine, of course, have turned into a drinking weenie. One drink and the stomach complains.

Back in the band days! It is hard to remember a time Double Fine was sober.

Anyways. Drinking and driving is perfectly safe, if your car knows the way

*again. Do not take Double Fine too serious here*

<quoted text>The ONLY thing worse than an ex-smoker who vilifies any and all who smoke is an ex-drinker who vilifies any and all who drink- or in Dave's case, a "dry" drunk who vilifies any and all who drink.
Of course, in Dave's case, it's MUCH worse because he is trying to make an argument FOR tobacco use in favor of alcohol use.
And what makes it even worse than that in Dave's case is that he doesn't know the difference between "use" and "abuse".
Well, I am a bit torn in this discussion. In my opinion, the most dangerous and powerful drug to get addicted to, is adrenaline. The sexond most dangerous, is alcohol.

I hate to take Dave's "side" on this, but if I have to choose living with a chain smoker and living with a drunkard, I would choose the chain smoker any day.

Dave didn't "see" anything, but he did get exposed to another dimension. Dave does have an understanding of machines and creatures and interactions of individuals within groups of them. One of those understandings is that you don't allow cancers to grow. Those are things that are only constructive to themselves, but deadly to the host body of mankind. Man is one being at the end of the day.
I have nothing to be ashamed of. You, however, should have a lot to worry about.

I never saw God because there is no such thing in the Universe. The Universe does just fine with out a God. All the acid I dropped was legal Sandoz acid. I had a gallon jar of tiny little pills. Well, my attorney did. He was quite generous. I remember when he took a handful next door to the Hells Angels living on Clayton St. Oh what a night!
I would agree with you, but firstly define "God ".
I define "God" as nothing more than pure non destructive super intelligent energy.
You cannot single out "God" because "God" is everything.
If you define "God" as a material being than you do not understand the Universe.

Also , if there truly was a "God" as the bible states than why do you think he would be part of what he created. He would be on the outside of the Universe looking in.
It's like buying a fish tank and setting it all up. You created a world for the fish to live in for your own enjoyment. You stand back and watch but you never jump in and interact with those fish.
It's a win win scenario, the fish are happy in their own environment and you are happy watching them in their own environment.
You never pull fish out of your fish tank and say to them "you are only happy because I created your world ".

Alcohol doesn't look so good in comparison. That is not even counting accidental deaths from it.
We need to bring prohibition back. Too much lost productivity. Your secular government knows what is best for you.

<quoted text>I guess you're not aware that there are now many companies which prohibit their employees from smoking at all- be it on company time, in the company parking lot or even on their own time.
"Workplaces ban not only smoking, but smokers themselves
More job-seekers are facing an added requirement: no smoking — at work or anytime.
An increasing number of employers won't hire applicants whose urine tests positive for nicotine use, whether from cigarettes, smokeless tobacco or even patches.
As bans on smoking sweep the USA, an increasing number of employers — primarily hospitals — are also imposing bans on smokers. They won't hire applicants whose urine tests positive for nicotine use, whether cigarettes, smokeless tobacco or even patches.
Each year, smoking or exposure to secondhand smoke causes 443,000 premature deaths and costs the nation $193 billion in health bills and lost productivity, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The CDC says 19.3% of U.S. adults smoked last year, down from 42.4% in 1965."
http://usatoday30.usatoday.com/money/industri...
"KEMOS, Mich.- Warning: Cigarette smoking may be hazardous to your job.
That is what employees at Weyco, an insurance benefits administrator in this small central Michigan town, found out.
Under a new policy that legal specialists say is the first of its kind, Weyco began testing its 200 employees for smoking in January. And the company put workers on alert: In the future, they will be subject to random testing. If they fail, they will be fired.
Rather than take the mandatory breathalyzer test, four employees left the company.
And while Weyco's strict no-smoking policy is drawing the ire of civil liberties groups, it is within the bounds of employment law in Michigan. The state is one of 20 that has no laws preventing employers from firing workers who smoke even when they are not at work."
http://www.nytimes.com/2005/02/08/business/08...
The only thing on the "plus" side of smoking is that it is legal.
And the reason for that has to do with money more than anything else since the sale of tobacco products is the single largest source of tax revenue in this country.
There is not one good thing about smoking- not one. Not a single benefit is derived from smoking.
And this is being posted by a smoker who is gearing up to quit.
So RR can whine about car exhaust being more dangerous than tobacco smoke but of course, cars are necessary whereas cigarettes are not.
And there are many countries which like the USA have strong bans and limitations on smoking- and with good reason.

<quoted text>BTW, as to your last question, and as I previously posted, about 443,000 Americans die from tobacco use each year versus about 75,000 dying from alcohol.
That's quite a huge difference, wouldn't you say?
As far as who dies younger, that is hardly the point.
It's a QUALITY of life issue- not QUANTITY of life issue.
A smoker who develops COPD and must use oxygen has had their quality of life seriously impaired, so what difference does it make if someone with COPD or other smoking related illnesses lives to the ripe old age of 90 if they can't enjoy their lives?
I understand- you, like many- think it is only LIFE in and of itself which is important while not giving a thought to the QUALITY of a life being not only equally as important, but actually much more important.
At any rate, smokers can expect their life expectancy to be about 10 years less than that of non-smokers.
It's the last 10 years, right?

What are we missing? Having a hard time getting off the toilet and dinner at 4pm?

This is the beauty of your Pocketgod. You can define "it" however you like because there is zero evidence for it. Funny, but there are 3 billion other interpretations of the Christian god, with each adherent defining the characteristics to suit their ego. When was the last time your god disagreed with you?

The danger of your god is that, since it is so utterly, ridiculously malleable and non-evidential, all manner of human manipulation can be perpetuated because some shaman claims your Pocketgod told him it was what your invisible fiend wanted.

Stolen from Bill Hicks. Funny, but the quality of life of a COPD sufferer is no better in their last ten years.
