The right and left are retarded. I'd say the most reasonable people are the ones pretty much in the dead centre.
Right wingers are too vulnerable in falling into the trap of nationalism and blending God and country, as well as a tendency of fascism in extreme cases. The left on the other hand are too naive, forever forgetting the costs for all kinds of rights, benefits and welfare programmes and falling into socialism, as well as their tendency to define everything by consensus.
The dark side of the right: extreme nationalism
The dark side of the left: extreme socialism
Combine the two and we get National Socialism, also known as Nazism.
Try this and take the test

It only takes a few minutes and then you can argue from a fixed point

Also see the analysis, you will find that Hitler was more or less centre but with a strong authoritarian tendency

The candidates in the last US elections were all just about the same.

The good traditional good guys,, The Dalai Klama, Nelson Mandella, Ganndi etc were all left wing liberal

I'm not sure, but what I gather, organic refractory material is not life, yes? So they find that it can manifest (or something) without supernatural help. Yes/no?
Here's a hint: I ask YOU questions because I don't understand but want to and YOU are my go-to-gal.
1. I don't think you have.
2. I totally trust you on matters of science.
3. See 1 & 2.
So, blow me.
Then I make you some fish & chips.
:)

<blows kiss>

Ok, to answer:

1. No, no observations of life from unlife have ever been recorded.
2. The organic chemistry that's been created in the lab, observed in space, isn't necessarily what you'd want in your food - a lot of it is petroleum, like butane or methane (on some worlds, it rains methane). But not all of it. Some of it are amino acids, the building blocks of our proteins.
3. The point is that organic molecules are *always* being created in the universe because of natural processes.

Do we know how they formed replicators, then evolved into what we know as life? No, not even slightly.

Does our science suggest that some extra-material process was at work b/c we cannot, as of yet, identify the exact chemical processes by which replicators (pre-life) are produced? No, science cannot purport the immaterial as an explanatory power. It simply is incapable. Hence, whatever your beliefs, we're left with exploring the purely material for answers - because we cannot just ask any particular human deity to perform some experiments for us. Deities have a nasty habit of not manifesting according to scientific whim.

Do I really need to blow you? I mean, won't the missus be upset?

Christians are cannibals.

Wow, ok.
So...
1. You disqualified your entire post with your last line? Sorry, didn't realize you were joking.
2. You're telling us that atheists and godbots, yourself included, are all the same? So...uh...huh? The atheist experience is the same as the religious experience, and your way of demonstrating that is through insult?
I didn't disqualify my post. I disqualified the generalising nature of my post, with that last line.:)

I didn't demonstrate. The Soviets demonstrated it. Atheists, after how many thousands of years, had one shot at collectively showing the world that they are better than godbots. And what did they do? Hand over absolute power to a single government. Made the government their god. Essentially a group of men were the gods. Where was the individualism, the "free thinking", the rationality, then? All that out the window. Make the government the god. People can't even own their own business. Literally all was for their government god!

I was prepared to accept that those soviets were just quack, and their communism had nothing to do with atheism. But then I found on this very thread that we have people, atheists fantasizing over the unthinkable: a one world government!

While the agnostics are fairly individualistic, where are most of the atheists? On the left, indulging socialist ideas, mob rule, fear of private companies, faith in the government. Even after 9/11 when the U.S. people were presumably hating all of us Muslims of the world, who were these people? I was shocked. I expected the bulk of these U.S. people who hate us, to be the right wingers. Right wingers are often retarded but the one thing we can count on the right wingers, is that they will never fully trust their government. The left on the other hand was suckling everything the government was feeding. And where do the atheists stand mostly? On the left, many on the far left.

Power to God, cries the theist. Power to the mob, power to government, cries the atheist. Even if God is indeed imaginary, I'd consider a person believing in God far less dangerous than a person believing in absolute government control.

Animals sure haven't evolved much over the past 3,000 years but our classification system of them has.
Uh...uhm...you know, Linnaeus gave us our classification system only 300 years ago - and you'll be proud, he was a Christian who was trying to understand God's plan.

He relied heavily on morphology. But morphology is sometimes difficult to distinguish from convergent evolution, so we now use genetics.

Basically, the classification system is accurate. We've refined it using genetics, but only in strange, obscure cases. I mean, can you think of a single case where a species has been reclassified? I can, but I work in this business. I'd be surprised if someone not working in science could, b/c the cases I'm familiar with are pretty crazy obscure (so obscure that I hadn't heard of the species in question until I was told it had changed).

LOL, interesting analogy.
I don't know, perhaps the Bible has had it written for all these years that the BMW had stock chrome rims but after the arky dig, it was discovered that it had black rims. Now they'd have to go through the whole book with a fresh understanding of the translation.
Can you give any specific example of how the interpretation can change?

Also... You think Jesus would go chrome? I had him picked with spinning mags, and be known as the "Holy Roller"

[QUOTE who="Malleus Maleficarum"as much as i dislike religion in general i would not wish to legislate against it or its practice, i feel that education and logical reasoning will push it to its inevitable demise.[/QUOTE]

There have been rational adults saying the same thing for thousands of years. Most indoctrinated children never have the intelligence, common sense and courage to leave their barbaric cult.

Religious brainwashing is pure evil and indefensible. It's inevitable that there will be an international ban on this abomination and the sooner the better. The alternative is mutually assured destruction.

Why are you so focused on blaming God for sick kids?
Can you, in turn, thank God for healthy kids?
Personally, I do not blame any god for any illness, war or drought, because I do not believe in one.

However, I am arguing from a POV of *your* deity existing and claiming omnipotence.

No, I will not thank a god for healthy kids. Because, he has nithing to do with healthy kids. Most healthy kids have loving parents, are relatively secure, have good access to medication, when needed.

It is the sick and dying ones that are dirt poor. Once again, it would seem your deity can only do what the system can do. He can take care of the rich kids (because of healthcare, etc), but totally inable to help the poor ones
