Ah, hey, they kept it all in the family.

Personally, I can not fathom how anyone would take this disgusting story as literal.

Hey, was Adam black or white? Would love to know the Christian idea of where black folks, Asian folks, Indian folks etc came from? I am talking of skin colour, as well as facial features? Differences in skull shape, stuff like that. Why does Japanese, Koreans and Chinese have slanty eyes? Why does Indian/Pakistani folks have that light ebony colour with black hair? Why do African people have broader noses? Or creasing hair? And whites.. Why so many different hair colours? From blonde, to brunette, even redhead? Why dowe get to have all these hair colours and the others do not?

Actually I do, and scientific theories require repeated, well-substantiated evidence to become theories. abiogenesis has NO evidence whatsoever to back it up. So...basically, Science has a factual end, theories about the middle, and no beginning at all. I don't care how scientific theories work...what I said is correct...it's like a tower without a base.
Uh, in one paragraph you claim to know how scientific theories work and then declare that you don't care how they work, only your non-science based opinion matters.

How do you come to your opinion? Are you capable of evaluating chemistry and microbiology? Can you provide critiques of the sciences other than "I don't believe it!" or are you just telling me, with vehement force, that you are religious and cannot accept information outside of your religion?

Phylogeny for hominid doesn't explain where the hominin came from...that's all I'm saying.
The phylogeny of hominin tells us about the evolution of humans from earlier apes.

Quite clearly, we can keep pushing this back until we get to the beginnings of life - at this point, you've admitted that evolution works. None of our understandings of evolution invoke deities.

Why would you subsequently be unsatisfied with contemporary science's investigation into abiogenesis?

I never said we should treat our criminals badly, I'm saying that we don't need to give them creature comforts like cable, A/C, tasty food, allow them to have porn, sex or drugs, etc while incarcerated.
Tell me what a better deterrent would be than a cold, uncomfortable prison sentence.
There is no such thing as an effective deterrent. Again.

Once people are in jail, it is to the detriment of society as a whole if we "lock them up and throw away the key." People do better when they have something to do - both on the "inside" and once they get out. Basic comforts - TV, "tasty" food (don't know where you got that idea), and AC go a long way towards keeping people content and therefore peaceful.

Would you rather have a bored, hungry, uncomfortably hot prisoner or one that is more or less content? Which one do you think would be more agreeable and less prone to violence/disobedience? Obviously, these basic comforts should be supplemented with mandatory self improvement, which will lead to some prisoners doing well on the outside.

Again - no one is "allowing" porn and drugs in prison. It's just impossible to keep them out. This demonstrates the futility of the drug war better than anything else in my mind - if we can't keep drugs out of prison, how in the world are we going to remove them from society? Some prisons do allow conjugal visits, but only to prisoners who have behaved exceptionally well, and I see nothing wrong with that. Sex is a great stress reliever, and low stress prisoners are a good thing.

Oh...I see..so basically all of the geneticist, physicist, paleontologist, archaeologists, and so forth, who have contributed research that falls in line with evolution, but aren't really grounded in evolutionary biology...well...God forbid they try and debate because, they aren't grounded in evolutionary biology. LOL...no that wouldn't be the case would it...as long as their theories fell in line with evolution they're in the click and are welcomed to take the floor...if it doesn't...oh...I bet it's on...then that expert automatically is assumed not an expert evolutionary biologist and their work is useless and not worth discussing.
Huh? What are you going on about? At what point did I invalidate disciplines other than evolutionary biology?

You must have misread. The disciplines of genetic, paleontology, and archaeology fall under the framework theory of evolution. They're quite compatible with evolutionary biology - I can't imagine a more ridiculous accusation than the one you just leveled at me.

Furthermore, physics has nothing to do with biology. Why would you include it in the above rant?
I mean it's just hilarious that you believe that people who believe in God are incapable of being objective scientist. If an expert geneticist (and you can replace that with any field) produces substantial data that disproves any part of evolution, and he is found to believe in God, then I suppose his research and data, regardless of clear evidence, would be considered useless. Do you have any idea how prejudice and foolish that is?
Wow. You missed my post where I said it didn't matter what religion people were who did science?

Why are you making crap up that I didn't say, lady, and then yelling at me for it? Have you no honesty?

I specifically wrote that most scientists in the USA are Christians. That doesn't mean they throw their religion into their science - those are separate magisters.

With Hitchens you're making the mistake that I get accused of so often - that a university degree makes for expertise (he had a degree, just not in theology). The reality is that the best thinkers in religion debated him (and lost). He quite clearly was an expert in Christianity (and Islam). No one would have debated with him if he wasn't producing very good argument and writing on the subjects.
With Dawkins, I agree with you. I found his book simplistic and preaching to the choir. However, I haven't seen it successfully refuted yet (although, to be honest, one person has pointed to me to inaccuracies in it - or misquotes, I can't recall).
I was in Oxford when Dawkins' book came out. With serendipity, I found a table full of PhD theologian students - what better, I though! So I engaged them - please tell me how Dawkins is wrong, i asked.
Sorry, RR, not a single one of them could produce an argument that I could not refute in seconds. I was left thinking that the entire field of theology must be parasitic and worthless. If you can find me a good theological discussion, by all means, share it.
Hitchens is an arrogant self righteous idiot. I much rather prefer the lectures and debates of Dawkins. Dawkins is a lot more reasonable. Hitchens premise from the get go is wrong most of the time. His accusations about Islam and muslims is ridiculous to say the least. He mistakes the criminals within Muslim society, for the entire Muslim society.

He has the gift of the gab and fools the masses. His questions are usually statements in disguise.

"Why do you beat your wife?"
"Why do you kill civilians?"
"Why do you hate disbelievers?"

These are all statements in disguise that he bombards others with, and the audience is fooled into thinking he made such great points and raised such vital issues.

Pull the tapeworm out of your ass, hey!
Pull the tapeworm out of your ass, hey...
Pull the tapeworm out of your ass..
Hey!

Gotta love it.

Listen to these, all done by SOAD

Prison
X
Aerials
Chick 'n Stew
Toxicity
Spiders
Chop Suey
Deer Dance

Pretty good stuff. The vocals are unique, but not great. The guitar rhythms are fast, granted, but no shredding, so it is playable. The drums are very good, but once again, no double bass, so it is also playable.

So... They are not technically such a great band. But they have ANGER!!
