Although almost 200 years old, a statement by 19th-century writer H.L. Hastings regarding skeptics’ attacks on the Bible holds true:
For 1800 years, skeptics have been refuting and overthrowing this book, and yet it stands today as a solid rock...The skeptics, with all their assaults, make about as much impression on this book as a man with a hammer would on the Pyramids of Egypt. When a French monarch proposed persecuting Christians, an elderly advisor told him,“Sir, the Church of God is an anvil that has worn out many hammers.” So the hammers of the skeptics have been pecking away at this book for ages, but the hammers are worn out, and the anvil still endures. If this book had not been the book of God, men would have destroyed it long ago. Emperors and popes, kings and priests, princes and rulers have all tried their hand at it; they have all died and yet this book lives on.
Amen!! His Word will endure "forever"!!
And the following quotes are even more than 200 years old:

Thomas Paine

"I would not dare to so dishonor my Creator God by attaching His name to that book (the Bible)."

"It is the duty of every true Diest to vindicate the moral justice of God against the evils of the Bible."

These Founding Fathers were a reflection of the American population. Having escaped from the state-established religions of Europe, only 7% of the people in the 13 colonies belonged to a church when the Declaration of Independence was signed.

Thomas Jefferson

"I have examined all the known superstitions of the world and I do not find in our particular superstition of Christianity one redeeming feature. They are all alike founded on fables and mythology. Millions of innocent men, women, and children, since the introduction of Christianity, have been burnt, tortured, fined, and imprisoned. What has been the effect of this coercion? To make one half the world fools and the other half hypocrites; to
support roguery and error all over the earth."

"Christianity...(has become) the most perverted system that ever shone on man...Rogueries, absurdities and untruths were perpetrated upon the teachings of Jesus by a large band of dupes and imposters led by Paul, the first great corruptor of the teachings of Jesus."

Jefferson's word for the Bible? "Dunghill."

So, apparently, it is not powerful enough to make all 7 billion of us believe or even agree on how to believe.
Christianity started with just a dozen or so people and has escalated to almost 2 billion...

What is known in science frequently changes - with new discoveries.
Science used to 'know' that the earth was the center of the universe...
Science used to 'know' that the Milky Way was the universe...
Science used to 'know' that the universe is finite, then infinite, then finite again...
Science used to 'know' that the liver circulated blood and the heart contained your spirit.
Science used to 'know' that insects were borne of rotting flesh...
Science used to 'know' the best way to fight a fever was to let a little blood out...
Science used to 'know' the smallest thing possible is the atom...
Science used to 'know' that automatic doors is pure science fiction...
Today, science 'knows' the universe is 13.7 billion years old...
What are we to expect? Based on the nature of science, that 13.7 number is very likely to change.
Yeah, we'll refine the number to another decimal point. 13,700,000,000 is a bit vague still. So what is your point?

You are correct, they were not scientists. The scientific method was not developed by then and since that is what science is, no one prior to it's development can technically be called a scientist. Often many great minds of the past utilized a method that was similar to the scientific method, so we give them due respect by giving them the label of scientist. So I fail to see your point, without the scientific method, you cannot be a scientist anymore than a person could be called a software engineer before computers were invented.

Yeah- there is- we went over this last week.

RR, if you want to call a car a train, have at it.

The fact remains it will still be a car no matter WHAT you CHOOSE to call it.

The fact remains the bible still states what it states, no matter HOW you CHOOSE to twist what is stated.

As a reminder:

Now you DARE to disrespect the BIBLE by stating that no part of the bible commands you to kill witches?

Or are such simple words simply beyond your comprehension?

“H-o-o-o-o-o-o-ld on thar!”

No, HOW is that? And do you have any basis for that accusation?
Very probably. Unless we're extinct.

But you don't.

That was called the "goddam" particle. Some editor decided that was potentially offensive, and changed it. Higgs hated that.
And you know that perfectly well - so that actually qualifies as a lie.

2.2 Billion: World’s Muslim Population Doubles

By 2030 the global population is set to reach over 8 billion and 26.4% of that population will be Muslim.
