Good pull. Have you done much research in this area?
I was looking for the reason Clem would accept a theory that does not meet the standards of empirical evidence. You know, can't be falsified or observed...
It's a hypothesis only, a fantasy as yet, not even at the theory stage. It's impossible, so far, to integrate the hypothesis with a quantum deterministic universe.

Of course.
Patience is a virtue, son.
Your response towards me when I "interrogated" you about the spankings you received as a child lacked any form of patience, boy.

It's more that there is not now, nor has there ever been, any proof that any god ever existed.
Why would anyone believe in something that has never been remotely proven to exist?
When and if God ever proves Himself to you, you'll understand why we believe.

Unless that happens, I can't really explain it to you.

<quoted text>It's enough that you're on Topix- which is a type of media outlet- spouting over and over and over again about your personal experience with your god which has led you to believe that the it is FACT that your god is real and that your god exists.
But really- TOO funny!!! How do you know how many people have "felt god" if they didn't make it PUBLIC?
Topix ain't media.

There are many ways of making things public without going to the media, ie; seeking that 15 minutes...

Slice it and dice it any way you like; the fact remains that you post on average 2200 posts a month.
And that you are also here a good deal of the time on weekends (read: "REAL time with your family") has not gone unnoticed.
Keeping score? No.....it's really simple math and every easy and to figure out in no time at all based on when you became registered and based on your total number of posts since then.
Aww....looks like I struck a nerve in lil' RR- no....you do NOT make it on your own two feet, RR- you need your beliefs in order to make it.
Since you're so curious about my personal life, I'll allow you to indulge in this fantasy of yours.

That's what we call "belief", karl.
Acknowledge it.
If you can.

<quoted text>You mean like much of the sh*t YOU talk about here, RR?
Who the HELL are YOU to point fingers at ANYONE for going off topic or for posting what is not 100% germane to the topic at hand?
I distinctly recall one such INCREDIBLY off-topic post of yours- about you being able to see pepper in your poop!!
So what IS your point? It couldn't be that it's okay when YOU go off-topic but NOT okay when others do it, could it???
Hey, MORON. You're the one that claimed I spend my whole life on Topix trying to prove God...

I love to see you backpedal.

That's one apologist argument that always bugged me.
"You don't WANT to believe there's a god."
Who WOULDN'T want to know there's some omnipotent, loving guardian watching over all of us?
But like you say, the evidence just isn't there.
And if there were a god, about the only lesson it teaches is that you're on your own, dude.
There is evidence you refuse to see.

Wrong.
Fact.
You don't even have the balls to describe your god.
I have many times.

But you have no problem that we can find no evidence of god?
Except, of course, your "personal" experience, that only YOU know about. That, even tough YOU have this personal experience of god, makes you no better that any other Joe Schmoe on the street.
If you had the "personal" connection with god, don't you think it would be evident in some undeniable aspect of your behavioUr?
No, I have no problem that YOU can't find evidence of God.

God is evident in my behaviour.

Well, when he adds that it would be in THEIR lifetimes (those he was addressing), it kind of narrows it down a bit.
I don't know any 2100 year olds.
Do you?
It that what it says?

Is that what it means?

You know why people don't go running to the media when they find god?
Because they know they're nuts.
And they know everybody would think they're nuts.
Even other believers.
I will admit, the Jesus on the Goldfish thing was a bit nuts.

Some, but not all.
There are things that are undeniable to ANY rational person that you choose to deny.
That would depend on a person's level of understand of rationality & opinion now wouldn't it?

Some things you call rational, I call crazy.

And vice versa.

When did a person ever need a scholarship to understand basic history that could be taught on the middle school level? The NT has some indications that certain events were witnessed first hand but the majority of it is also told from a narrative. Mainly the revelation of John was a first hand account of the recording of what was witnessed from the person telling it. The Gospels are all written from the perspective of someone from the outside looking in. I haven't read anywhere in them that said, "I saw, I was there, I touched this, I tasted the wine. Do U know the difference when reading contexts? Because it doesn't take a scholar!
In other words - you'll believe the Bible.

Men created the Bible, so you believe men.

You are honest enough to admit this, correct?

Do you always believe second and third accounts when going through life?

Do you understand what I am asking?

Can you answer these questions using honesty?

If so, then these questions should be a piece of cake:

a. Do you believe in all of what Jesus taught?
b. Do you think "Paul" was more enlightened than Jesus?
c. Why do you accept less than 6 of the original Apostles, and not the remaing other 7 original Apostles?

Thanks for responding.

How many "god sightings" can you find? Hundreds? Thousands? Ya, probably.
But that is infinitesimal compared to the amount of people that have felt God and not ran to the media to tell them. Like I didn't do.
That's my point.
"Feeling god" can be explained in two ways. Either our brain creates a feeling that we interpret as god, or god exists. We have proof for one of these options.
