I'm pretty sure that when I took it, not saying "under god" would have gotten me in a world of sierra hotel india tango.

Although, in my first year, it was finally decided that it was unconstitutional to force us to attend a service-any religious service-every week.

<quoted text>Sorry, but you are confused. Sex, making love and emotional love are three SEPERATE things. Yes, once you fall in love with someone THEN you may want to have sex, but the actual act of sex in itself is NOT an act of love. Sex is mechanical in nature. Many times two strangers will have sex and NO love with be involved at all. What you are talking about is called "making love" which "incorporates" sex into a relationship but isn't dependent upon it. BIG difference.
Sorry, but I am not at all confused about sex, love or the difference between the two, and the post to which you are responding said as much.

I am well aware that one doesn't need to love someone or to be in love with someone to have great sex and again, I stated that in my post.

I know exactly what the act of sex is and I am well aware of the differences between lust and love.

However, if two people actually love each other, the lust involved is that much better, more passionate and more intense.

So while love is not a necessary emotion in order to engage in sex, love makes the act of sex that much better despite that great sex can be had without any love involved.

Real gays don't "swap" any more often than real straights. How often do you swap back n forth?

Then stop referring to the USA as a Christian nation. Since we have no official religion- nationalized or not- the USA is no more a Christian nation than it is a white nation.

That the majority of people are Christian doesn't determine that this is a religious nation OR a Christian nation any more than that the majority of people being white doesn't determine that this is a white nation.

Of course, you and I have been down this road before; you didn't understand it then so I hold out no hope that you will understand it now.

America is a fundamentally Christian nation, based on a long and well-developed tradition of Judeo-Christian philosophy.

Our military must make the following oath:

I,(NAME), do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So help me God.

Our POTUS makes this oath:

I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States. So help me God.

We make this oath in court:

I swear to tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth, So Help Me God.

Our money has had In God We Trust on it on coins since 1864.

As Christianity is NOT a national religion, it is certainly the backbone of America & American prosperity.

Deal with it.

No- you deal with the fact that you are wrong.

In any case, the oath the POTUS takes does not refer to a Christian god or to any specific god of any specific religion, so that right there negates and invalidates your very first statement.

Same can be said of the mention of a god on our currency.

There is NO mention or even any indication that the god being referred to is the god of Christianity or that of any other religion.

Why? Because the USA has NO official religion and therefore, the USA is NOT a Christian nation.

So again- YOU deal with it.

Yes, it most certainly is and one I see you can't refute.

That you want to think it is the Christian god that is being referred to is YOUR issue.

I realize that as someone who has no respect or regard for the beliefs of others or for the beliefs in gods other than the one you choose to believe in, you would of course assume that the god being referred to in the POTUS oath and on our currency is the god you believe in.

Of course, since no particular god is specified, it could be ANY god that is being referred to- both in the POTUS oath, our currency AND our Pledge of Allegiance.

Sorry for your luck.

Daily Horoscope for May 23

Pisces

It's a big change today after yesterday's combustible atmosphere and you're feeling more relaxed and understanding. You're even prepared to forgive someone for what you thought yesterday was a heinous crime, and ready to give them a second chance. However, let's hope that this person deserves your goodwill and is grateful to receive it.
