<quoted text>Detailed gps mapping can distinguish between mere inches in topography and distance. We can tell you how far any point on Earth has moved in any direction.
A good satellite image can also tell you the soil composition and even the flora and fauna of that specific point, within a very small margin of error.:P

Um no ... it's because the lens and camera sensors are capable of magnifying the image to a level of detail allowing us to see such things.

Perhaps that area was mapped out 6,000 years ago or more and Piri Reis was able to get his hands on it.
Or you can look at it your way - aliens did it.
But that doesn't account for the garbled mess of North America on that map......
You'd think that an advanced alien species could make a better map.
Much like you'd think that your deity, a deity you claim created "all", and decided to use a book to inform the people it desired to worship it, would have came up with a better or more accurate way to convey that information, and additionally, would have gotten some key facts right, not the jumbled up, "sometimes metaphorical, sometimes literal, but always tedious in the end result" mess of 'god words" that you claim them to be.

But, no, this book of "god words" that you hold them up to be, inviolate and always perfect, has resulted in literally thousands of denominations, a few different religions(at war among themselves - at that) and only one third of the world thinks they are valid at all.

A world in which, you claim, the deity wants everyone to worship it.

So it left behind a tome of divisive writings, so that everyone would know it was "god words", when reading it. But, two thirds of the world thinks it's utter crap, and the third that does believe it, doesn't follow what is there as the deity demands.

hahaaa.

That's a great deity you've got there~\.

I believe that through the providence of God, the Bible was preserved for us in modern times. I believe that if you get one of the more accurate translations, then you have all that God intended for us to have.
If God is God, then he could, and would preserve His word for all generations to follow.
There are not just a few, but there are thousands of ancient manuscripts that the Bible is translated from.
In addition to these, there are many ancient versions of the Bible, translations of the Bible into other languages, maily Latan. These versions date back into the second century.
Early Christian writers also have also spoken of the word of God, as have other historians. These documents give us glimpses into the scriptures that were available then.
All of this ancient evidence points to the fact that the Bible we have today is complete and over 99% accurate, with the small inaccuracies being minute details that do not change the substance of the text.
