Oh, well they're either visible or invisible.
So then you must be praying to VISIBLE things in the sky.
Post a picture of it. If you can't then you are delusional.

Thank you.
Lets see if I can clear this up (I doubt it);

I don't pray to anything "in the sky".

What makes you think you have the ability to send silent wishes to anybody? Praying is nothing more than an act of self humiliation. You have little self respect.
We agree.

I don't send silent wishes to anybody.

You said you assumed that he would cheat.

No, I didn't get it from Mr C.
Ooops... you're right... Mr. C had nothing to do with that.

That was between you and me.

Just so ya know...

I'm okay with you're wanting to experiment... but, no thanks, leave me out of it.

<quoted text>Stop trying to weasel out of it. Parts of the map contain information unknown at that time. As I stated before at that time the coast of Queen Maud Land had been covered with a thick sheet of ice for many centuries. and its shape was only recently known to modern mapmakers through the use of modern seismographic equipment. Try again.
Well if all you're gonna read from post is "That map was made in 1513", thus is gonna take a while.

Try reading the entire post. Here it is again:

You said:

" it would be fruitless to ask you how they could have a map of the Americas (Piris Reis) at a time when America hadn't been discovered!"

That map was made in 1513.

The Americas, The New World, were discovered around 1,000 AD by Norsemen from Iceland. Cloumbus in 1492.

Hows it feel to be wrong so often?

My brain tells me there could be a god. It tells me that I can't say, with certainty, that there is no god.

My “gut instinct” tells me, if anything, that there probably is no god.

When someone tells me they know there's a god... my “gut instinct” tells me to be skeptical.

Get some sleep, bro.
I know what you said.

You said it again >>> “God will ignore”

Your god is not only ignorant, it's willfully ignorant.

You never answered the question >>> How does one make themselves into a believer?

I know you hate it when someone makes comparisons about/to your belief. That's tough...'cuz here's another...

Make yourself into a believer that Leprechauns exist. Explain to me how you would go about doing that. If you manage to do that, would it change the fact of whether Leprechauns exist?

Do you have to run around actively forcing yourself to believe Leprechauns don't exist?(Just curious)

How is a non-believer supposed to contend with the ignorance of a god?

Seriously... How does one just turn on belief?

the universe is an OPEN system!
An infinite universe is unacceptable to me. Nothing is infinite, anytime you have infinity in physics there is a problem. God was the starting point that created the universe when it was in an extremely dense and hot state. God was what started it all, creating and influencing our closed system universe, from beyond the boundaries of the universe. There had to be a starting point a beginning, i believe that beginning was God. I believe in science and religion, i don't believe it has to be one or the other.

hi there - if you live in the western hemisphere, you're using a calendar which is currently in the year 2013. 2013 represents the 'Year of Our Lord', i.e., the first advent of the Son of God- the Lord Jesus Christ who came to earth approx 2013 years to date!

as for Leprechauns, we have no authorized, first-hand biographies of them like we do have of The Christ.

if you disagree with history, it's actually you who is wrong rather than history.

bye bye now, lil snot-nosed brat:)

Oh now, come on... no apology necessary. You're doing outstandingly well by comparison to some of our fundy Christians.

If we discuss this till the cows come home, and it does nothing but strengthen your faith, then I'm happy for you. I mean that.
Would you have accuracy in history books? If so then why not our book, for it hold history as well.?
“Red Herring” fallacy.

We were discussing the existence of a deity and what a particular book has to say about it. The accuracy or inaccuracy of other books isn't the issue.

For the sake of the argument, I'll give it to you >>> What's in history books could be all but completely false. Some of it in some of them almost certainly is, as one history book conflicts with another. Somewhere there has to be false information.

So... where does your argument/question go from there?

Also...

History books, even when containing false information, tend not to contain something that'll automatically raise questions about the veracity of said information. The writer wants the reader to accept it and doesn't want to give them a reason to deny it.

Example >>> George Washington and the cherry tree.

Whether true or false, there's nothing about the story in itself, nothing miraculous or incredible, that would make the reader regard it as erroneous.

I think that falls into the category of “False Analogy” fallacy... since most holy books do contain that sort of information.

Know what I mean?
