I wasn't either.

"When it counts" was referring to when you stand to be judged before entering heaven.

"Faked faith" will not fool God.

Are you trying to suggest that your consciences is your soul?

Who said anything about sex for procreation only? That is ridiculous. That's not what God wants, that's why He made sex so much fun, desirable & easy.
Sex IS encouraged for fun & bonding.
Well, on the extreme end of Christianity sex is supposed to be only for procreation. Regardless, my question is, why make sex outside of marriage sinful? Assuming that none of the participants are already married, it's all consensual, and safe sex is practiced? Seems to me that should be fine, and even desirable. Young adults could engage in and learn about sex first-hand, and get to know people more intimately before making the stronger commitment to marriage. Divorce rates would probably go way down.

Why does the universe need an origin? According to you, God doesn't.

<quoted text>I have never seen any credible proof that a soul exist. I have never seen any credible proof that a soul doesn't exist. Therefore I haven't decided one way or the other. However, we weren't talking about that. We were talking about if a person can experience life after death and there is no question that when the lights go out - that's it.
Nothing to be scared of. You will feel no pain, no emotions and have no thought process. You would need a living brain to experience any of these.
This might help. I dropped this bomb earlier today.
Not in the terms which you describe it isn't. You describe this "soul" as though it is a perpetual entity. It is not.
Your entire spinal array is a conveyance system for signal. One of nearly instantaneous conductance of electrical signal through a superconductor plasma which is both atomic and subatomic. Those signals are evidenced by equipment we have and by natural means also. The "aura" which you can observe in an individual is the dispersal of that energy beyond it's "contained" path(s), and naturally moving toward lower resistance(entropy). That is the main supply system of energy(produced by the body itself) to enable body function and ensure that function(s) are maintained providing life signals even to the most minute structures and substructures of the biological system.
The system is genetically controlled by switches that eventually decay and malfunction, and as the organs begin to become "toxified" due to wear and environmental influences they are unable to conduct these signals to the needed levels of sustenance, at which point(s) the organs begin to fail, and the entire organism eventually succumbs. That is "death" as we know it.
The only energy left in the organism is the inert energy of chemical matter. The "superconductor" is shut down and all it's energy is absorbed and dispersed into the environment that remains. Eventually, all energy suffers total entropy, and the entire biological structure "disappears"-or IOW is consumed by the environment.
There is no "magic" soul involved---this is the actuality.
Any attempt to incorporate "fantasy" is just that-"fantasy".

The nearest instance to "soul" that could be incorporated(although illogical) is the finding that super conductance appears to make matter invisible at extremely high temps(& currents) because of the subatomic alignment of "certain" elements in this state. That bearing no relevance in this issue.

Nope. I asked you "How can we "know" what he universe consists of when we can barely got off our own planet?"
And your answer is:
"Science."
So I assume your pathetic one word answer means you can't answer.
If you don't know how science has already answered it, then that says a lot about you.

Religion has nothing to do with it.
For one thing, this is a religion-oriented thread.

For another, some of the more zealously religious-minded maintain a campaign of disinformation no matter how much evidence science brings to bear on various subjects and inquiries, which hinders progress.

Science is what it is in spite of religion >>> Acceptance of facts.

Religion is what it is in spite of science >>> Ignorance of facts.
Science teaches us what the universe is & what it consists of, but current science is far too ignorant to tell us that.
Science never made claim to know everything (scientists haven't).
Is that your argument that science knows what the universe consists of?

Of course you'd see it that way, you're not Christian.

Today's science cannot answer it.

It's arrogant presumption to say that today's science knows what the universe consists of.

Guess I spoke outta hand.

Why would a god wanting to "save" everyone utilize a deluge to wipe the planet clean of the "unsaved" before there was a "savior"?
