I'm Irish.

Seems like the envy's coming from the direction of Doncaster.

Why wouldn't he?

There are two kinds of people - those who are Irish, and those who wish they were.

Yah, that one's an utter cretin.

Bet he'd have supported the Crusades, though.

He wouldn't have actually gone on one of course, but supported?

Why do you fear reality so much? They are flawed, inherently flawed as a matter of fact. This is something that is a bit of a conundrum for psychologists and why they so often try to find a better method, but ultimately fail to do so, and a good psychologist will readily admit this.

The reason they are flawed is because they are culturally biased, intelligence is a measure of how a person can take what they know and apply it to other situations as to produce more accurate results in the outcome, so when you posit an organism with something it does not know, and expect it to utilize it, you are producing inaccurate results. Since the tests have to be tailored to the cultural region, and then the appropriate culture is pretty much just a guess, they are inherently flawed.

For example, simply by using the word tram in place of bus you completely alter the outcome of the question, the person taking the test must think "tram" instead of thinking "bus" for there to be an accurate result, but in the US people think "bus" more often than not, thus it skews the test results if the question uses the word tram in place of bus. Simple nuances like that have a huge impact on the results of all tests, even psychological profiles.

The BB hypothesis, originated in religious thought, and was an interesting proposal, in it's day.

The BBT is still the reining and standard model theory.
Nothing has falsified it , or even come close to doing so.
All evidence points to it so far.

There is NO "place" to ascend to.

You turn off the light switch and the light no longer exist. Period.

There is no need to waste time believing in things that don't exist.

As much as I hate looking at this chart, it reminds me that I'm average at something ... being 5'4" sucks because it's so average. Anyhow, RR is correct:

At least in that 6' is not average in the US, not sure about the 5% but meh, he is closer to correct in the general topic. Average male in the US is 5' 10.2"

There's a major misunderstanding out there.

"Everyone has a right to an opinion" is universally accepted, and true.

Somehow, this has become confused with the notion that "All opinions are therefore of equal value".

This is patently false - if, for example, I want an opinion on matters astrophysical, I'm gonna ask Stephen Hawking, not the newspaper horoscope.

"Freakish" is a misnomer, and thus why it is not used by academia much anymore. You mean less than average, because "freak" demands that there be a "normal" as well, and since living organisms cannot have "normal" in anything, it is impossible for there to be "freaks" as well.

Actually, it is losing ground every day, it is more accurate to say "bunch of small bang theory," since that one is actually taking over.

Actually, both present the exact same level of "proof".

It's called the "Bare Assertion Fallacy".
