Why does it seem to be such a bugbear in your country? Water should be free and so should medical care. We have had a `single universal plan` since the 1940`s in the UK and it will be the final term in office for the political party who attempts to get rid of it.
Because we are still too infected with the god delusion, sadly. Also we still have too much mob rule as well, and the mob is downright stupid. In short, the USA sucks, it really just sucks.

Yes, and lack of medical care as well as unpurified water costs the country way more.

So glad I don`t live in such a mercenary society.

In a civilised and affluent society there are things which should just be accepted and they are that no one suffers from thirst or that they should worry what happens to them if they get ill.

Thers also millions o' plastic caskets stored all over the country. Each one capable of hold'n 5 or 6 bodies. Sounds like a plan in the mak'n ta me. That's a lot'a money an effort invested there.

I don't see how.

For 46 years, I have cost the US government a whopping $00.00 in medical care costs.

With Obamacare, I'll be paying for 46 years.(and my folks before I was 18)

Then you should also consider America to be "civilised and affluent", because we do the same.

Yes, it is.
Really? That motto is conspicuously missing from the Great Seal of the United States. Strange

I agree.

And I would also include safe and warm place to sleep, and an education.

Social contract.

I would prefer universal health care. So would President Obama.

I do see problems. But on balance, it's a start.

The goal is to wake people up to the realities.
