You deduced all that from one sentence? I find that rather strange.
No, I deduced that you don't actually think about what you type.

<quoted text>Yes, I really do think that. In 2010, we had 4.8 homicides per 100,000 people, and in 2009 (the most recent year I could find info on) we had 125 robberies per 100,000 people. It appears that 53 out of those 125 were strong arm robberies, meaning that no weapon was used, but even excluding those robberies, we still have an armed robbery rate that is much higher than the murder rate. This means that most criminals who put a gun to your head or a knife to your throat just want your money, not your life.
Also, taking into account only the robberies in which firearms were used, we still have a rate of 53 per 100k.
That being said, sure, there are definitely occasions when the criminal in question doesn't really care if you live or die, but those situations are the exception, not the rule. According to the numbers, it's better to just hand over your valuables while being mugged rather than try to be captain america.
Also, it's funny that you mention our nation's abhorrent gun homicide rate in a remarkably dumb attempt to prove that we need more guns.

When you are a woman and there is a burglar in the house, all your pleading literally goes out the window. Yes castle laws are there with good reason.

<quoted text>"It's only paranoia if they aren't out to get you."

The U.N. has been profiling every nations' fertility "status". And, apparently, have decided that the only way for every country to reach a reasonable level of "happiness", and therefore, "peaceful state" is to have less children. IOWS, less people consuming that country's resources. Not surprisingly, the Pakis believe the UN wants to sterilize their children if they can't get the women to use contraceptives and/or abortion methods to keep their numbers down.
I thought the killing of immunization workers was extreme and paranoid until I saw this info. I'm sure that after enduring several years of drones flying overhead and killing children that the Pakis are in high-alert survival mode. If they know of the UN's research on fertility that can only make their resentment and suspicion of us worse than ever.
Pakistan voted to not have anymore drone attacks ,
Washington didn't pay any attention. Do you have any idea what that means?

There's a bonafide thought, If schools should be gun free zones and safe from evil doers.

Make the white house and all government buildings gun free zones.
After all if the children don't need protection with guns from crazy people. Why would the president or anyone else need armed protection?
Make all government buildings gun free zones!

thats a new one !
You misinterpreted my point. I was replying to the comment that obesity is caused by factors other than overeating. I referred to POWs because I consider them a viable control group. If obesity is caused by slow metabolism, thyroid problems, etc, would not a percentage of said POWs be overweight even though their daily caloric intake could be considered a starvation diet?

<quoted text>Yeah, but these are purely cultural differences. They have nothing to do with race.
And your comment about having to be careful about certain "races" in india sounds a bit ridiculous, honestly. I imagine it'd be like me saying that you have to be careful around black people because I had a bad experience in the inner city once.

It is not just to spice things up a bit.
You don't even know why you go to all that trouble of looking good do you.
You are trying to attract , you are trying to attract attention to yourself, you want to be seen as an object.
It's ok, that's a normal trait. It is the real you, the inner you just trying to attract for proliferation purposes.

If you are awakened one night by the sound of breaking glass followed by footsteps, or multiple footsteps slowly ascending the steps toward your bedroom, I believe the baseball bat that you chose for home security will be woefully inadequate.

Another approach to life:

You might wake up some mornin'
To the sound of something moving past your window in the wind
And if you're quick enough to rise
You'll catch a fleeting glimpse of someone's fading shadow
Out on the new horizon
You may see the floating motion of a distant pair of wings
And if the sleep has left your ears
You might hear footsteps running through an open meadow
Don't be concerned, it will not harm you
It's only me pursuing somethin' I'm not sure of
Across my dreams with nets of wonder
I chase the bright elusive butterfly of love.
