The universe AS WE KNOW IT had a beginning is more accurate.
So if complexity implies a designer then who designed god? Or is god a very simple object that requires no creator? LOL
I think Deism is the right fit for you agnostics who like rationalism and yet tend to believe in God,rather than not believe, though not the abrahamistic versions(christianity, judaism, islam) which dominate US.Deists also reject abrahamistic religions though still believe in God. So you agnostics and in betweens, and confused end out on a limb and go with the nearest big group that opposes abrahamistic religions atheism, when as agnostics you would be closer to deism, though many do not even know what deism is.

Deists are theists but rational ones.

Many rational people and scientists have chosen deism as there believe In God

He sounds like a suicide bomber. Or maybe you mean that he literally flaming?
And why would that be bad? My body would be turned to ash and my soul released to your god.
One more thing: in what sense am I created in the image of Old Fireball there? We don't look alike, and we don't think alike. We don't really have much overlap in our biographies or composition. I have much more in common with any other animal than I do with Jehovah. At the cellular level and below, I'm pretty much the same as a horse: phosphlipid bilayers, mitchondria, DNA, ATP, enzymes, etc.
But your god? Not so much.
So, in what meaningful sense are human beings the image of such a god?
The evidence is all around you, IANS. Deuteronomy 4:24 and Hebrews 12:29. We are made in His IMAGE, but there is NO WAY we can even compare our physicality, intellect, and spirituality to Him. He is WAY BEYOND, WAY BEYOND anything or anyone we puny humans can dream up!! He CREATED US for corn's sake!! And UNTIL we humans CREATE LIFE from NON-LIFE (boy, would THAT make BIG headlines around the world!!), then Christians like myself will just happily go along with what the Good Book says.

OK Ok Ok Time to send Christians reeling their head and saying all manner of deranged nonsense.

There is a bone to pick about Eve , but it ain't no rib bone. This makes me wonder if this is where the notion that women were evil came from in the creation fairy tale. But this one is sure to make you scratch your head from whatever angle you view it.

Oh, KK, you are a funny thing - sorry - person. Reminds me of the old story where a Christian man invites a few atheist friends to his house for dinner. Anyway, after they have all had a good meal and wine, he invites them to see his planetarium (a room with the model of the universe in it). They look at it with AWE and WONDER. One of his friends says to him, "This is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!! EXTRAORDINARY!! Who made it?? You??" Then the host says to them, "No!! NOBODY MADE IT". They all said, "Why, that is absurd!! SOMEBODY must have made this wondrous work of art, surely!!". He replied, "No, nobody!!" They then said "SOMEONE MUST have DESIGNED, drawn up PLANS, then CREATED this MODEL OF YOURS". Then he said, "Then WHY is it so hard for you to BELIEVE SOMEONE CREATED YOU and this PLANET, and THE UNIVERSE YOU LIVE IN??". So I guess he had a point there. Just saying.

I am here giving scientific evidence of a a phenomena that supports the claim that things can COME OUT OF NOWHERE, as the Bible said God created all from nothing.
And you ask me how evidence of a phenomena which demonstrates that the emerging of things out of apparently nowhere is possible, is related to the claims made by Christians that the creation of something from nothing by God is scientifically valid??????????
BTW there was a point where it was believed by some researcher(s) that there are VIRTUAL PARTICLES which appear inside a vacuum and without any apparent cause.

So I am not sure if it is that you have not been paying to trends in science or whether you trying to make a fool out of yourself.
Then come the "Aura Mitzba" or what ever his name is, saying that a cause has actually been identified for the "causeless" appearance of virtual particles in a vacuum.
So there was a point when SCIENCE THOUGHT PROMOTED THE IDEA OF CAUSELESS EVENTS.
Now the switch and say "OH THE EVENTS HAD A CAUSE, WE JUST DIDNT KNOW IT YET."
Just decide what is and is not so we can hurry up and show you how meaningless your ridiculous Godless world is.
So you are claiming that the universe came out of nowhere, but that you'd like to believe your imagined deity was behind it all?

Why go to such lengths? Why bother with imagining a deity and then pretending that a universe requires a deity to exist?

If you've just demonstrated that something can come from nothing...then you can give up your silly deity ideas.

;)

And that will make you happy.

We all have one of these souls, only one, not 9 lives like a cat, just like we have 1 mother and 1 father. People who were close to death but were brought back talk about the white light, the sensation of being pulled toward it, when in reality their souls are being dragged across their brains. I've read countless articles and seen many documentaries and movies, plus have read many 'a kindle on death, God and dying. And I truly believe that the only thing that sits in our sternum or above it, is bone and ligaments, not our spirits. When we sit quietly and think to ourselves, our thoughts are sensed at the top of our heads, or in our minds, which most things are located in our heads, that encases our brains. When we think or talk, we do not see or speak through our chests or above the Solar Plexus. So it is only natural to think that the soul resides in the right side of the brain, the creative side of the brain. The logical side (the left) just hides the facts from us until the very last second before we can either get revived and brought back to light from drowning or a fire, or possibly a gun shot wound, or even a stroke or tumble in the street. The logical side of the brain will retain the memory of the episode, unless we end up on the light or dark side of God. I, myself, plan to end up dwelling in the light side of God, where I will feel a slight floating sensation. I will not have the same mind power because the logical side is destroy when the body dies and our soul is given extra time to have God's hand practically pull it over the brain and into his energy, where itl becomes fluffy energy. How can you "logically" explain that when many pass away who believe in God, usually they'll see the white light, and that is the split in the brain?. The soul goes across it like covered wagons going cross a raging river. Depending on your creative side and your imagination, your logical side may put the scare into you as your final awareness as a human being in a human body is blown out like a candle when the soul passes from the creative side of the brain to the left side, where God is meeting you to take you to his light or dark side, which means there is no Hell, or Devil. God is Good, God is Bad, God is all things. If you try and take your own life, you will see all of this. My own father told me many times that when we died, we just went to sleep and that was that. Well, when he took his own life after 4 attempts, he must have found out for himself as his soul floated to the bumpy dark side of God for leaving us like that, my 2 older brothers and younger sister, plus mother and I. When I think of my father now or try to conjure up his image now, all I see is darkness, his soul is ashamed living on the dark side of God for the deed he did. When you get surgery and have to be put under, you can see the things I am telling you about here. As long as God allows you to be brought back to talk about them, you will remember like others who have been in accidents, or came close to death in some form. Now I know the soul resides in the creative side of the brain, hidden away so we can't sense it, unless you are Bipolar or have some related mental problems. Some say that if you were hit in the head a few times as a child before the age of 5, like I was, that it could open certain 'doors of perception' for you. It won't help your popularity, but at least you should not be afraid when death knocks on your brain. Make sure it's the creative side, and PLEASE, leave the Solar Plexus alone!

I also said that your bible was, "ancient gobbledygook - the product of multiple unsophisticated and mutually contradictory writers."

Let me clarify my position for you: Your panty sniffing god doesn't exist. It is a fictional character - an amalgam of the genocidal urges and sexual tyranny of multiple brutal and primitive men.

Were you confused by a reference to a fictional character? It's done all of the time. Santa keeps a list of the naughty and nice children, and Jehovah sniffs panties. Neither assertion implies belief in the fictional character.

The dishonesty here is yours.

God Himself wrote:
Because a God Who is perfect in power can do anything in any way to any degree; as well as He can choose to do nothing.
You don't seem to understand what perfect means. It is the attainment of the highest possible condition in a thing, below which is imperfection. Not all things qualify as perfect.

When your god screws up, that screwing up doesn't become perfection, as a Christian would typically imagine it. Instead, your god becomes imperfect. The god of the Christian bible is horribly flawed.
God Himself wrote:
A God who is of perfect character is superfluous to the discussion

Only if you are discussing generic gods, which need not be perfect. But if we are discussing Jehovah-Jesus, a flawed character pretty much rules him out. Whoever speaks for that god claims that it is perfect, which it quite clearly is not.

The bible god's character one of the things that helps identify it as mythological. It's central to any discussion of its existence.

Are you saying that non-smokers should pay more taxes than they do pay, or more than what smokers pay?

Keep in mind that if a nonsmoker lives five years longer than the smoker, but has fewer hospitalizations before dying, he will still cost America much less.

A Social Security check is usually between $1000 and $1500 a month. Sixty months of that would cost about $75,000. That's eaten up pretty quickly in a hospital.

I had plenty of COPD patients, for example, that went into the ICU - sometimes on mechanical ventilators - a half dozen times or more before dying. And they often had home oxygen, hospital beds, tray tables, and bedside commodes at home for years. You're looking at a half million dollars or more a throw. These were all smokers.

Do you object to people who want to smoke anteing up? If so, on what grounds?
