Many things that have been invented are no longer in use.
So it's not that anything could be "uninvented"; it's simply that what has been invented need not be supplied or in use any longer.
Cocaine, morphine, barbiturates - most are still available to medical professionals for use on patients, or by prescription to those patients. Quite acceptable.
And your argument of "supply" cempletely misses the point that no "supplier" is needed. Many drugs, like firearms, can be manufactured illicitly.
