No, it's Xmas now, we have merged all the holidays into one secular holiday, love it or leave it.

... and merry Xmas!

<quoted text> Interestingly, Jesus was NOT the MAJORITY. There were SCORES of them, and only ONE of him. But HE was (and still is) the RIGHT ONE!! He was a very lonely man on that cross, but hey, he certainly is reaping the rewards now!! COME, LORD JESUS!!
So then your first assertion was a flat out lie.

If the worse thing he calls me is a lesbian.. I can handle it..I've been called worse..lol.. Him and that poop is Jesus or whatever his moniker is.. those guys are made of the same cloth so there might be 2 guys in his congregation

No, not at all. But I seldom torture them, and if I do, it's always for less than a week. Eternity seems a little over the top to me.
You might recall that I had asked, "Let's begin by identifying which god you are talking about. There are thousands." What I was saying is that your almost immediate focus on punishment was how I knew that your god was either Jehovah-Jesus or Allah. When you talk to Jains, a Bahai, or a Taoist, they seldom refer to punishment or torture at all.
Disciplining children has nothing to do with religion or God. Spinning only works if you have a wheel.

In light of those small children in Connecticut I will not engage in this conversation out of respect for parents whose children where actually murdered.

That's nice.
What about Jehovah? What about its morals? Do you consider its actions perfectly kind, just, moral and loving? Do you endorse all of its behavior?

No. I would love them, but not respect them for their faith - exactly as if they had a drug or alcohol problem. Faith is not respectable. It is not a virtue.
<quoted text>
You seem to think that the negativity leveled at your church is unjustified, or that it's based on hatred of your god. It's not. Your god is like Santa to a skeptic.
In my case, the contempt you're seeing expressed is primarily for your church and its influence on the lives of both believers and unbelievers, although the latter is the more pressing issue for me.
I don't recall that post being for you so why answer it.. It was for booots and you are DEF not her!! She can speak for herself ya know..

You forgot Solstice, Channakuh, Festivus, and a bunch of others I can't recall off hand. Most older than your Christmas, and some less crazy, like Festivus, fare more sane than Christmas.

Yep, you are egocentric. You do realize there are 8 billion people on the planet, the US makes up less than 10% of that.

I don't agree. Neither does Dr. Weinberg:
"Religion is an insult to human dignity. With or without it, you'd have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. For good people to do evil things, it takes religion."
Religion and faith are often viewed as the same. The two concepts are not the same. Many people have faith, but do not believe in religion. Religion is man made whereas faith is a spiritual concept. Religion has an institutionalized background, a conformity of a system of attitudes, beliefs and practices. The word faith can be used in describing the type of religion we associate. Often this religion is one of like minds, and written doctrine.

Faith on the other hand is the actual belief and trust and loyalty to God, the creator of the universe

<quoted text> No, no, no, scar!! These NDE people were NOT on LSD!!(Although there were NUDE people on LSD at Woodstock back in '69, ha-ha!!). They GENUINELY floated out of their physical bodies (no drugs or shit like that) and had Out Of Body (OOB) experiences. They NEVER ingested drugs of ANY kind beforehand. How would you explain that??
Most NDE's, not all however, are seen within people who have experienced Cardiac problems, IE; Heart Attack and Stroke victims.

Many times if not most of the time the people who survive those do so because they are in a emergency care hospital environment, and the cocktail of medications and drugs administered are massive, varied, and - at the time - given in a last ditch effort to save the patient and little regard is given about after effects or the effect at the moment, except that those medications are known to *JOLT* the heart and peripheral systems back into - life.

So, to say those people aren't experiencing an effect from drugs isn't quite accurate, and also, the body/brain is known to release some pretty heady combinations of natural chemicals itself in close to death and - at deaths door - moments, so that's another factor.

There is plenty of information that documents this well.

Is it all inclusive? NO. During those times, when a person is trying to be revived, there isn't much effort made to ensure data is collected that documents exactly what is happening in the body/brain, other than the effort to save a life.

So, NDE's will continue to remain a phenomenon that isn't fully or readily explained, and to make the leap to say that those experiences represent an "afterlife", is jumping the gun.

Because they never really died, did they.

Punishment is a huge part of your religion, it's actually the primary focus of it and fills most of your doctrine. Heaven and hell, nothing but discipline.

What booots is referring to is very real, it's called the 'idolect' which is the 'thing' which is used to identify the author of a text in forensic linguistics.
It is a recognised area of forensic linguistics and while I concede that no one here to my knowledge is a specialist, I have used a forensic linguist and a graphologist to prove that a letter was dictated by a female and written by a male(That case made the law reports I was quite chuffed).
Consensus would seem to show that you aren't fooling anyone and if one were to cover your new bogus avatar and ID replacing it with one of Old Yellers' or Pattiecakes'...no regular poster could tell the difference.
You 'obcess'[sic] about the same subject matter, you post at the same time, your spelling errors and basic misunderstandings of words terms and context are exactly the same as those of the poster of whom you say you are not.
You showed up four hours before Old Yeller said she was hanging up her keyboard and it's like she never left. Sometimes if it waddles, quacks and has a beak...it's a duck.
thats the biggest load of (you know what) ever.

if you opened my account you would KNOW it was not pattiecake.

do you realize how many people on here resonate similarities in how they post and what they think or believe and how they express it?

you are WRONG.
