Whoever wrote that goes off the premise that there are no original texts.

The Dead Sea Scrolls are a testimony to the accuracy and preservation of the Old Testament and provide confidence that the Old Testament existing today is the same Old Testament as that which used by Jesus.

The bible was written over a 1,500 year span by 40 authors and it still holds up to scrutiny.

Name one other book that can say the same....

Researching the questions you seek answers to will be the only way you learn that your religion is a false doctrine.

Whose arguing? I'm asking questions.
Fair enough. I recant the arguing remark.
So your interpretation is the one based upon certain "inspired" men, right?
Right.
Okay.
Why have you limited "God" to only certain men?

I haven't, God has.
Don't you think "God" can inspire anyone?
Of course He can. And does.

Why did He choose Moses, Peter, Paul, etc? I don't know.

Moses had a sort if unnatural upbringing by pharaoh. He would've been the only one brave enough to approach him like a regular guy. He was very humble before God & approached Him in that manner. He expressed himself, murdered out of rage & was a slow speaker.

The dum-dum answer is "God works in mysterious ways".

If you believe in God, you know that to be true.

God damnit! What's your question???
God didn't damn it, the beavers did :)

I've been asking him why he loathes, hates, fears (whatever his particular emotion is) Christianity.

I used to ask "Christians", but he's since said that its not Christians, it's Christianity. That's as far as I can get with him......

There's no "culture" of atheists. Maybe a bunch of subcultures.
There are atheists in Buddhist and Muslim countries. We all reject all deities because of the lack of evidence believers have.
And believers of other religions "know" that they have the "one, true religion." They have myths like you do to justify your denial of their religions - the Christian one is always "Buddha never claimed to be a god, but Jesus did." Buddhists tell me "Christians almost have the truth. They're not quite right, but close."
So they don't really bother to "prove" your religion is wrong. They already know it is. Just like you "know" theirs is wrong. You guys are pretty funny.
:)
"We all reject all deities because of the lack of evidence believers have"

So you refuse to see our evidence?

You're not seriously asking me about Adam again are you?
hahaha, no, but you just claimed that Adam was an early human - the "first" human or something.

Guess what? There was no first human :)

What you consider evidence isn't evidence by the standards of science. Buddhists' evidence is as good as yours - so why aren't they correct about Buddha and you not correct about God?

That's the basic problem. "If" you believe, then the evidence is "true."

If you don't believe, it's quite easy to see the problems with what you consider evidence.

- then you agree that it has many outdated philosophies that really aren't required anymore.
No, not the philosophies, the literal stories. There's a difference.
- Then the Bible is no longer "true", if the above statement applies.
It's not true.
- Which ultimately means the Bible in its entirety, has portions of it that are not of "God", because "His" words would be timeless,
It is timeless. Here we are, 2,000 years later and we're debating it.....
in the "Christian" sense, yet some aren't....and....that then states those "inspired" men you so highly tout, really weren't all that inspired if their words are no longer valid.
Again, it's the literal account that changes over time, like the "laws" of treating slaves, not the fundamental meaning if the story.
You seem confused. What can I help you further understand?
Nuttin, I'm good :)
. "Please don't show that you're so stupid that you can't see past the literal words..."
- Ah yes, time to try and belittle others to show them you are superior.
When in Rome....
Your arrogance is not very "Christian".
What arrogance?
You are a little man in a bigger world.
No shit, Sherlock.
We all reject all deities because of the lack of evidence believers have
I know that. You refuse to see our evidence. Hiding just said that, too.
And BTW - asking me questions that don't pertain to the current discussion shows you are trying to redirect. Please try to stay focused if you want to continue to exchange posts with me.

Your science can neither prove nor disprove any deity, yes?

So why is something outside of science deemed impossible by science?

Makes sense. It do.

And if you don't believe in evolution and are outside the proverbial box, it's easy to see its flaws.
