Well, then, you and I agree more than you think.<quoted text>
I've read the evidence and just like you I believe that, yes, Jesus
existed. It's the "hero" mold I was pointing out, the fact that you have all these parallels between Horus and Jesus. The fact that christians put so much faith in the divinity of the man, and the reasons they put faith in it are stolen moments from no less than two archetypical "heroes". The fact that christians built a belief system on a crazy version of the telephone game. He was not born on Dec 25th, the day was used because it's the first day after the winter solstace when the days start getting longer. ie. "the light bringer", just like Horus. But christians put all this belief and faith on a story, that for all intensive purposes is a lie. Not the fact that Jesus did not exist, but the supposed fact that he was devine. All the scriptures that attest to his divinity were written about 300 years AFTER he died. I'll take the evidence that he did exist. He's just not as special as all the christians believe he is.
My original post was mostly to address people who say that He never existed in the first place. I wanted to say that He did exist, there's documentation to prove that a human male named Jesus DID exist, but it's up to you whether or not you believe that He's of God. We're ALL of God. That's another thing that Jesus said that's been misinterpreted. When He said that His father was God, he meant that we're all children of God, not that God was his biological father.
Jesus was NOT born on December 25. I would hope that we all know that by now. I don't mind (in fact I LIKE) putting up a tree in
December and celebrating Christmas on Dec 25, but Jesus wasn't born then. He was born in the Spring. When the Christians wanted to convert people (as I've said before) they used scare tactics. When they reached as far as England, Ireland and Scottland, where Pagans celebrated the Winter Solstace, they didn't want to convert to some new, strange religion. So, what did the Church (of that time) do? They said, "Hey, guys, if you really don't want to give up your tradition of this Winter Solstace stuff, okay, but we're gonna call it 'Christmas' from now on and we're gonna celebrate the birth of the Lord." Also, when the real hard liners just didn't want to give up their Pagan religion, they pushed even further. There's a Pagan symbol of a five pointed star inside of a circle. It's called a pentagram and it's a symbol of love and protection from the Mother Earth. Well, the Church thought about what to do to get the people to give up their symbols and accept only Christian symbols. They decided to demonize the pentagram, saying that it was a sign OF THE DEVIL!!!!! Mwwaaahhhhaaaaaa!!! Scare tactics.
I also wanted to say that all of today's religions are based on earlier religions. Did you watch Zeitgiest? You must've because that's where the Horus stuff is well laid out. You'll note that Judiasm and Christianity are essentially plagarism. Well, yes and no. Watch it again. Jesus is the Christ for this 'age.' Horus was the Christ (anointed one) of that 'age.' Jesus is basically Horus reincarnated.
Do you believe in God at all? Again, it's ok if you don't, I just want to help put an end to the bashing.
