Without California's Proposition 8, couples will be forced to use Party A and Party B. No longer will they be allowed to be called bride and groom or husband and wife. Gays do not just want to be married but they want to take away my right to be called a bride.

OMG you poor poor thing. If this is the biggest problem you have you should be extremely grateful. I on the other hand have much to lose if your proposition 8 passes. My family deserves the same benifits as yours does. And I guarentee you my contribution ie taxes 'over $100,000.00 last year' should affoerd me the same rights you enjoy. If it makes you feel any better I will call you "bride" and I could care less if I am party a or party b as long as I am at the party.

So now the state won't even recognize that marriage is between a man and a woman. That was a quick leap.

How about the marriage tax? Couples will have to pay at least 2500 dollars more a year in taxes. Continued examples of the way that marriage is being attacked.

"If it makes you feel any better I will call you "bride" and I could care less if I am party a or party b as long as I am at the party."

Then why has the state changed the marriage license. Why are couples being refused the right to be called bride and groom? It seems like more than words are being bandied about.

Please you church of choice your family and friends will all be happy to call you bride. Your concerned about a legal document that will be shoved in a drawer someplace. If you take issue with gay marriage please come up with an argument that has substance.

California's proposition 8 has changed the very forms that couples use to marry. Recently, a couple had changed the Party A and Party B to bride and groom. Their license was sent back to them because it was altered.

I do not tred on others civil rights do not tred on mine nor try to define me as less just because I want to be called a bride or my husband a groom.

Civil rights are different than marriage. The two should not be confused

You automatically assume I go to church.. that is also a comment that smacks of bias.

Do the heterosexual marriage certificates and ceremonies change too?

Yes. There is just one form for everyone, and the words spoken during the marriage ceremony at civil ceremonies held by the county now use gender-neutral terms, said Jean Pasco, a spokeswoman for the Orange County Clerk-Recorder. "But the couple can use any wording they want if they're married somewhere else by someone else," she added.

What's the problem?

You don't get it.. I did not tell to change the definition of who you are..

I am saying dont tell me to change the definition of who I am.

The court recorder is wrong. The licenses are being refused if the wording is changed to honor their own sexuality.

Should I be forced to go out of state to retain my rights? I think not.

well it is a shame that people are ignoring God, He has the last word on what is and what isnt, Remember he created Man and Woman, and in the Bible it says between Man and Woman. I dont have a problem with who you want to be with, that is your business and God will be the judge, there are circimstances for the way things are. But why should we go against God, he is # 1 God Bless you all

For Penny,
I tell my students when someone begins to call names or say rude illogical comments then you have wond the argument.

I do believe in God but the bias and hatred you have spoken will not serve you. Eventually bitterness eats at the soul and the rest of your relationships.

Shut up. They can call themselves whatever they want.

You may not attend a church, but you're definitely a religious nutbag.

Isn't there a separation of church and state? How can anyone try to impose Christian morals into the law or another person's rights? And marrying who you love IS a right.

And the only difference on the forms is that the paper you fill out no longer says "Bride" or "Groom."

Big Whoop.

If you need the word "Bride" printed on your marriage certificate to make your big day spectacular, you aren't marrying the right person.

Marriage isn't about titles or dresses or flowers or thousands of dollars on photography.

Getting fussy because of how a form is printed is a pretty good indication of your true feelings regarding the act of getting married.

SO if you really want to get married, then do so. The wording on the form won't be that important to you and maybe you won't fall into the fifty percent divorce rate we currently have due to people marrying for the wrong reasons and/or falling into debt because of a bad case of the Bridezillas.

Otherwise, if a parade of flowers and dresses and soothing adult alternative music or some cheezy country song is what you're into, then have a parade. Nobody's stopping you.

The homosexual community's settled on parades for years.

Actually, they cannot, the state was denying their right to be called.

Interesting how much hate and bias is coming out.

Do you have any logical ideas?

In Massechusetts. kindergartners are being read books about when a Prince married a Prince. This age is way too young. They do not understand nor should little one's be confused by such ideas. They should be able to be kids.

Or
Tax dollars are being spent on books that are representing ideas, that are not appropriate. These books aer being sent home in a diversity book bag. Children are confused by such ideas. They need time to play and enjoy life.
