<quoted text>
If what you say was true then the whole "pouring out of Gods Holy Spirit" on the day of Pentecost that is talked about in Acts and that Jesus talked about in the Gospels when he talked about God sending a comforter wouldn't have and didn't happen. And those that had "Gods Holy Spirit" poured out on them didn't really posses the gifts of the Holy Spirit like speaking in tongues etc....
Big problem though. Believers are manifesting those same gifts that were promised in Acts today. What happened on the day of Pentecost God kept a secret because had satan known what would happen with the crucifixion, resurrection, and ascension of Jesus Christ he would have done all he could to stop it. So although you and many other's would love to through out the rest of Gods Word after the Gospels it's not going to happen. God chose Paul to carry on with His plan after Jesus ascended into heaven. Satan would love nothing more then for people like you to disregard it because if it's disregarded then the grace of God towards all through Jesus Christ wouldn't happen. But it is and it will continue until Christ returns for his church.
Whatever rows your boat.

I really don't get why you grill your politicians over flip-flopping, mis-statements, misremembering, exaggerating and contradicting themselves, but when the bible does it then just accuse the questioner as being an instrument of Satan.

Try holding the words of the apostles to the same standard as the words of Obama or McCain and you'll see why so many dismiss the bible.

Hey Y'all,

Just droppin in to add some warm thoughts about our friend, WiP...the one thing no one can ever debate is she could always make one think, and you could always be sure of her stance on things. She will be missed!

I was shocked to hear of WIP's passing today. I've had a quite a few exchanges with her over the last year and always found her trying to discredit anything Christian. I hold no ill will toward her, but I see that nobody wants to speak the obvious. It appears that she did not believe in God or confess Jesus as his Christ. I hope she did so even if it was in her last moments because I know God would have accepted it if she repented in her heart. If not, then she is liable for judgement as she stated in the past that she would be responsible for her own actions. I am very sad for her, but I am hoping for the best. I read through the last few days of this thread and see that John C., Chris C. and Phyllis have spoken the truth to her (maybe others, too), so she will be without excuse if she truly rejected God's plan for her salvation. My condolences to all who knew her, but a warning to all that no one knows the day of their reckoning, and so be ready. I hope you did right by her yoga chic. Save yourselves from this wicked and crooked generation!

This evening I was in our boat with my husband and grandson we were slowly going down the Bayou here in Lousiana and I was watching the clouds and the water drifting and I could not help but think of wip and somehow I got a real easy feeling about her. You all know I am a born again believer and for the past week I have been praying hard for wip and It just seemed so peaceful out there on the water this evening and I just felt in my heart that wip is at peace now. I think she made her peace with God.Please dont think Im crazy but I just got that feeling.God bless.

SPeaking as a Christian myself:

What a disgusting example of a callous opportunist with very poor taste and zero sensitivity.

You've got a lot of nerve coming in here with the fire and brimstone act when people are just trying to respectfully commemorate their dead friend.

Get lost.

She knew exactly who god was.
It is you that doesn't.

These words only enforce why she had such disdain for your religion and those who share your opinions.

She is exactly where she wants to be.

My Loving Memory of Wip:

Thankyou so much for leaving me with this thought:

Granny: Keep that new opening mind of yours, it's a good thing. I'll have the wine waiting.

My last post to Wip was on page 1167 post 23614, and then I was off for the weekend. I didn't see any response from her but with what she left me, I know that she read it.

It's no secret to anyone that Wip and I shared many differences, but thru many months of sharing with her, I came to admire her strentgth and stand for what she believed in.

If there is one thing she left me with it is an open mind and learning about other cultures and faiths. Many walks of life that need to be recognized.

It is my sincerest hope that when my time comes I will see her standing with that glass of wine held high -- She wasn't just an adversary to me, she grew within my heart --

I truly am going to miss her and I hope I'm one of many to keep her beautiful memory alive in these rooms.

My heartfelt condolences go to her family and her beloved boyfriend that she spoke so highly of. May all find some comfort in knowing she meant a great deal to many of us -- especially me.

With love from Michigan to Hawaii -- Granny
