If you live in the USA and have a land line you may be receiving daily unwanted calls. These are often from some automated service. This is how to stop those calls.

1. First you must understand the US Federal Gov has an agency called the NSA that has been monitoring the phone networks for many years. To do this they 'hotmic' the phones. This is all automated and not like an individual is constantly listening.

2. Next, knowing the above to get the phone calls to stop plug in a phone answering machine w/caller ID (or separate caller ID box).

3. Unplug the phone so it cannot ring or operate as a listening device.

You will then notice the calls come into the machine but no message left. This will continue for about two weeks. Then the phone calls stop.

The phone screening process will need to be maintained as when the phone is plugged back in the phone calls will begin again.

This will save you from answering the phone daily only to find nobody there, or asking for some other person, ect.

Apparently what happens is the automated NSA system listens to the room through the phone, and calls to check on people.
