Buon giorno, Mama-san! I remember your name from another forum.

Pagans, Wiccans, Druids & other earth based religions. What is there to say? I'm a practising witch; have been for years. Hope others find this forum so we can get together and compare notes.

Blessed be!

My wife is a witch (I'm one of few men in America that is allowed to say that and not get in trouble) but I am personally very anti-religious.
I went to a gathering with her one year and one of the people leading the ceremonies came up to me to tell me the procession was starting. My response...Sorry, I don't process.

I wonder how long it will be before someone comes in here to tell us we are all going to hell.

As it ever dawned on any of you that there may be a very good reason that these religions died out in the first place?

Uh, because the winners write the history books? The Bible™ being the most popular?

Hi Mama-san,

I'm not a witch, nor do I practice any of the religions you listed though I think some ideas of each parallell with my own. Mainly, I'm just curious about them and you guys who do practice them. Organized religion is something I detest along with coersive tactics to convert others to a particular belief. If any come in bashing, I'm willing to give it back to them so you guys can keep the flow of the thread going. Of course, you see there is a selfish motive here. Like I said, I'm curious.:)

Buenas....

Satanists are basically just the anti-christian. They still believe all of the stuff in the bible, they just twist it into the negative of each story.

Pagans, Wiccans, Druids, etc. for the most part believe in a higher power or natural spirit (or spirits) but do not recognize the divinity of the one true god of the christians, muslims, and jews.

Each of the earth based (natural) religions have slightly different tenents and practices but all share the underlying admiration and respect for the natural world.

This should be interesting, I had an experience with a Wiccan couple, only at the time I thought they just made up that word to try and freak me out....lol....needless to say I'll not let them set the example of a real 'Wiccan family', and reserve personal judgement. I honestly know nothing about it other than their choices, but I would like to know more if anyone here practices, or has a better understanding of their practices...

Glad to see you all here! I'm still learning Paganism. My husband practices Druidry. I love this as it fits in with my ancestry, which is English/Irish/Welsh/Scottish.. .all Celtic!

JustWow, good to see you here! Wheezy, love the Celtic cross on your profile! BloodyVisogoths, welcome! Someone else, you'll learn right along with me! Actually, I've found tons of information on the web.

One of the things I like about Paganism is there is no one "real path." It's very flexible, you do what suits you and what works for you, within reason (I mean, you don't murder people! Or sacrifice children!). I know the Christians are having aneurysms at the thought, but that's their problem!

I'm on vacation the next four days, but when I get back to work, I have some great stuff saved that I'll post.

Hi Wheezy.
All is well here.
Just signed the paperwork for mom's new car so she's really happy.

I have always been interested in the earth religions, just can't bring myself to actually practice any religion.

Thanks for starting the thread Mama-San. Hopefully it will allow more people to realize the earth based religions aren't all devil worshipers.

Much of the harm done to "earth-based religions" comes from the Pagan Emporer Constantine & his Council of Nycisses(sp) where they were banned. The Gnostic opinion of Jesus admonition of universal love & protection of all peoples that had been taught by Mary Magdalene & the Mother Mary was also banned. Trinitarrinism was endorsed by the Govt.
Thank God OUR Founders were well aware of the consequences of this & the Greek influence on the bible.
I suggest reading Jefferson's bible.
The Gospel of Mary Magdalene.
Thomas Paine's Age of Reason.
