Despite what you’ve been hearing in the leftist press for months about conservatism in America being dead, just-released polling data from Gallup and Rasmussen indicate that not only isn’t conservatism dead, it’s actually on the rise!

In fact, America is making a mad dash toward conservatism!

According to Gallup,“Americans, by a 2-to-1 margin, say their political views in recent years have become more conservative rather than more liberal, 39% to 18%.” Perhaps even more telling is that last month 40% of Americans polled called themselves conservative—the highest level since 2004! Only 21% of Americans consider themselves liberal, according to the poll.

And guess what else the leftist news media aren’t reporting? They aren’t reporting that America is rejecting Obama’s socialism.

Obama’s approval rating is free-falling on economic issues. The latest Rasmussen poll reports that 56% of Americans rate Obama fair or poor on the economy compared to 50% just one week ago.

It’s clear from these two highly respected polling agencies that reports on the death of conservatism are just more liberal media lies!

Of course We can’t expect Obama’s liberal media lapdogs to report these trends. These are the same liberal media that failed to report that Obama’s trillion-dollar “stimulus” bill is a disaster. Rather than reducing unemployment as he promised, we now have the highest unemployment rate in more than 25 years and he's giving federal jobs that OUR stimulus money created to ILLEGAL aliens!

No. The liberal media are not interested in balanced reporting or telling the truth. They are too consumed with selling the American people on Obama’s socialist buffet of government power grabs. First it was the banks and insurance giants. Then the auto companies. Now they are focused on two of the biggest intrusions of the government into the private sector yet – a radical health care takeover plan and a massive Energy Tax scheme.

But as Americans discover Obama’s true intent to reshape our nation into a European socialist state, they are surging back to conservatism!

Obama and big-government politicians in Congress have said they want Americans to have health care as good as they have. So why aren't they jumping to join the new public health insurance plan they're trying to create?

Members of Congress are planning to keep their gold-plated, taxpayer-funded benefits packages while putting the rest of us into a government health care plan. If this new plan is supposed to be so great, why aren't they going to join it?

What hypocrisy.

There's even more hypocrisy and outrageous political payoffs in this health care takeover. Senate Finance Chairman Max Baucus wants to tax our health insurance to help pay for the government takeover - but their scheme exempts the unions from the tax increases!

Along with members of Congress and federal employees, union members have the biggest, richest benefits packages in the nation, but they would be exempted from this new tax.

Sotomayor Enters Confirmation Process with Miers-Like Numbers

Sonia Sotomayor will begin her confirmation hearings next week with some of the highest levels of public opposition of any Supreme Court nominee in the last two decades, according to a new poll by the CNN and the Opinion Research Corporation.

In fact, only one nominee had a higher level of opposition: Harriet Miers, who was appointed by President George W. Bush in 2005. Miers later withdrew her nomination under questions about her qualifications from both the political left and right.

Forty-seven percent of respondents to the poll say they would like to see the U.S. Senate vote to confirm Sotomayor versus forty-percent who say they would not.

In the final CNN poll taken before Miers withdrew her nomination, forty-three percent of respondents said the Senate should oppose her confirmation.

No other recent nominee, not even Robert Bork, whose own nomination under President Ronald Reagan was scuttled, faced public opposition this severe. In the last poll taken during the Bork confirmation fight, thirty-eight percent wanted to see him confirmed versus thirty-five percent who did not.

All other nominees polled by CNN—Clarence Thomas, Ruth Bader Ginsberg, John Roberts and Samuel Alito—enjoyed wide margins of public support.
