You're off track here buddy.
First you want to decide what your goal is with weight lifting.
Do you want to be an overbulked bodybuilder that can't comb his own hair or wash his own back because of limited arm extension due to bizarre muscle bulk?
Or do you want to have long term strength with the ability to perform athletically?
I am a boxer and do not want to limit the extension of my limbs, so I lift with speed and don't overdo the weight.
This builds muscle structure that allows me to punch farther, sustain longer and spring back like the weapon I am.
As far as supplements, just before working out, a 16oz beer a pack of peanuts and some beef jerky provides natural carbs, protein and calories to burn for real fast energy.
