"pimping aint easy"--$250,000 bail, thats 6250 "tricks" at $40 each--women cited & released(back working today) & T MONEY sitting in jail--seems to me they are equally guilty,if a crime was committed. why the disparity in charges?

If you are going to be mobile do it right. A few years ago they busted a bus that would be pick up the Johns in Philadelphia and they drive around for an hour or two, the bus even had a stripper pole installed.

Here we go again the government protecting us from our selves and NATURAL instincts. Where's the VICTIM ???there isnt any ,so how can it be a crime ? And they wonder why this county, state, country are broke !
How the WAR on sex and drugs scam really works. At least you get what you pay for, unlike taking a women out for dinner, buying drinks, flowers etc. then she says 'oh thanks' and you get sent home with your blank in your hands ! A country that's claims Freedom, yet attempts to control all human choices and behavior ! What a farce! The FBI involved in this? Get them on 'the border controlling 'illegal immigration'not in Chico motels !Get a real job ! I guess you can tell I'm a Libertarian now days ! I've voted Republican over 30 yrs.but am fed up with both major parties and this sort of Taliban tactics !Let FREEDOM ring "

Yeah, if you're pimping black prostitutes in Chico, somebody is definitely going to notice it.

In Sacto or the Bay Area, this moron probably could have melted into the background and not even have raised a ripple.

In any case, put the slime bucket away and send the girls to rehab.

The focus of this operation was not to catch adult prostitution, but to catch pimps using under aged girls. There is a huge problem with pimps forcing teens into prostitution. That was the focus, but if the libertarians like child porn I guess then they can protest this...I now know how you guys think..

The article clearly states that the women were 21, 22, and 24. In otherwords NOT UNDERAGED.

So what is your point. That they were targeting underaged prostitution and just blew it, not realizing that these women were not underaged girls? Or is your point that you didn't read the article?

"Chicoans don't object to working women - or men for that matter "

Are you kidding? These are about the only jobs created during this city councils tenure. What are people supposed to do for money? Grow pot?
Well at least the city council would be good customers.

Whats that you say, prostitution is so rare in Chico!???

OMG...that's about the most ignornant thing I've heard since 9/11 was called an inside job. There is more prostitution in this town now than has ever existed in our history, it's all over. At least 90% of the massage places give sexual favors (happy ending) in exchange for money.

Until just a week ago at least 10 or more prostitues were openly advertising on Craig's List, most were local! You still have those private dancers doing the dirty and rent-a-girlfriend ads on CL and in News and Review.

I've known some very decent folks, family members to a foolish young female prostitute that tried to get CPD do something about it and they never seemed interested.

if u think their are no underage prostitutes in chico u must be dumb... its harder to catch them because they are alot more inconspicuous but their out their, open ur blinds one of these days and take a gander outside, u might actually see things...

You missed my point.
If the police were targeting adult prostitituion they shouldn't waste their time.
If they were targeting underaged prostitution good, but what went wrong?
Did the letter writer I was responding to actually read the article? I don't know.
Oh no he did-ent

Only reason prostitution is illegal is because The Man isn't getting a cut of the profits. Feminists who always tout "it's a woman's body..." I agree, it is her body and if she (legal age adult) wants to sell it for sex and a guy (legal age adult) is willing to pay, so be it. Two adults conducting business. The gov't is already screwing us, only seems like the time is right for them legalize prostitution so they can tax the hell out of it. Isn't that basically the mentality for Prop19, tax revenue? Who's for Prop69 on the 2012 ballot!
