What makes you really happy and puts a smile on your face?

When you need a lift, what do you do?

I take my lovely lady to get a hamburger, then a movie, and afterwards pie and coffee.

Sometimes I just watch the History Channel or Discovery.

Flying, though very intense, is also a way to relax.

Taking a drive in the mountains is very good.

Now fishing - just the opposite - makes me want to throw my rod into the water.

The greatest enjoyment: the 3 kids and 9 grandkids, when their over for a get-together.

Oops. I just realized I made a typing mistake.
I've chastized people for making this same mistake, or not knowing the correct word.

I typed "their" and should have typed "they're."

I do know the difference between there, their, and they're. I guess I had a brain parity error.

To those whom I've chastized, please forgive me.

Fishing is the way I communicate with God. Being outside in the world God created is true worship. Cramped inside, listening to the opinion of a zealot is not. Oh, by the way, Flying doesn't relax me...it is a good way to create tension in me.
Lol, luckily it is better for us to be individuals and not all the same - what a horrible, monotonous place this world would be if we were all the same.

Nature

Nothin beats the smell and sights of Spring, a hot windy Summer afternoon, the colors of Fall, how everything looks right after a Winter snow.

...and of course the thong bikini

My son, a really good book, a plane taking off, walking in the woods while the sun is shining, finally solving a hard math or physics problems, cheese-doodles, skating, skiing, canoeing, drinking a lot of beer and dance until 5 am.

The last comment is a good point. Otherwise a forum like this wouldn't be any fun as all the posts would be:

I enjoy watching the news and hearing about gang bangers killing each other off. It’s like killing roaches. You have to kill them all, otherwise what’s the point?

I like seeing dumb criminal caught. I like when people are fried in the electric chair.

From my spiritual journeys to the other side, I know that all living creatures have souls and therefore do not view dogs as most other people do. I just cannot view them as disposable objects that are kept around for my pleasure. I think of them as other beings that have their own needs that must be met also. So it's an equal partnership and I try my best to meet THEIR needs as well.

And their number one need is ME. For I think the native Americans state it best with their expression that to dogs, we are their Gods. And for the most part they do worship us. At least all of mine always have, some even risking their very lives to protect or save me from harm.

So I just could never betray such profound love and trust. Even when facing stressful times trying to find a place to rent that allows dogs, while most people would only think of their own needs, abandoning them is NOT an option. I'll sleep in the car or pitch a tent in the woods if I have to, but I'll never betray their deep love and trust in me. For they are beings who would never leave me and even risk their very lives to protect me, so I can do no less for them.

Our lives should be about our spiritual journey and there are more important things to consider than making things easy for ourselves. It just seems to be part of my spiritual path to give the best life possible for whatever dog souls fate happens to bring my way. A path I take seriously no matter what hardships it brings my way.

For at the end of my life I will know that of all the dogs abandoned, abused, caged/chained for their entire squandered lives, starving, or killed, etc., I have save at least a few. Knowing they were spared all that. And from their start to their end, they were well taken care of, never abused, safe and warm on their bed when it’s bitter cold outside, or pools to splash in on a hot summer day, a hike in the woods every day, critters to chase, playtimes, or otherwise have a rich full life of joy and adventure. To me, no matter how much my life sucks, I take no greater enjoyment than to know that I was able to protect and give at least a few dogs the best life that I could.
