What is wrong with that? If he wanted to live on a mountain out in the middle of nowhere he should be free to do so.

If he wanted no contact with the general public that is his right to feel that way.

The man just wanted to be left alone and to raise his family in the manner he thought was right.

If they had left him alone him and his family would most likely still be living up there minding their own business.

No one would be dead and no one would know who he was.

Lets just assume that he was a member of the KKK. It is also his right.

It was not like he was in town threatening to harm someone. The man lived away from society a threat to no one.

The government is 100% at fault here.

He had no idea they were having "court". When he did not show up they had their reason to go after him.
What this was all about was they wanted him to work under cover for them. He basically told them to go to hell.
He committed the crime of "contempt of cop".
These feds think they are God and if you don't bow down to them they will get your ass one way or another.

Sounds like you are better off NOT being around agents.

Why won't you answer any of my questions? You have an entire thread completely dead, and then I take the time to converse with you, and you ignore it.

Where does defiant get you?(eye roll)

In the big scheme of things, there is nothing wrong with it, unless your choices get you in trouble with the law, and your own paranoia gets your wife and kid dead.

Let's face it, this guys was not abiding by the law...that is why there was trouble. Some of you here seem to think that you can make up your own rules. That's fine...just pay the consequences.

The KKK is a radical group who hurt other people and sells drugs and weapons. THAT is the problem. It's not like they are having tea and cookies every Wednesday LOL!

It also sounds like he missed out on combat, and wanted to play Army at home. Well...he got his wish, but he didn't win.

If you had studied my post, you would have known that I wasn't familiar with the case initially. Since then, I've done some reading.

Lesson learned...watch who your friends are. If he wasn't hanging around shady guys, he wouldn't have been in this mess.

I do agree that he was probably pushed pretty hard by the Feds.

I think we'll start seeing the same success in Afghanistan as we did in post surge Iraq. Obama will probally leave most of the Mid East decision making to Bob Gates. And with Petraeus in charge of Central Command things will be fine. No reason for me not to think that the guys there wont be taken care of.
Good to hear that our men are taken care of. With obama in office, I wasn't sure what his intentions were. I am only surprised that he is sending more troops out since his campaign was to bring everyone home. Seems hypocritical, but maybe he is making the best decision based on the circumstances. It makes me mad since he gave Bush such a hard time.

Bob gates concerns me because he seems uncertain about his position. I'd like to see a stronger commitment from him. When times get tough, we need someone who is going to stick it out.

Even if he did being a member is not illegal.

No...it's against the law to sell illegal weapons.

No...it's not illegal, but the fact that he was around them at times made him suspect.

The KKK is a radical group who gets into trouble, They pride themselves on it.

When you intentionally do what is wrong, you pay the price. That's it.

He did nothing wrong.

I have a neigbhor who is a felon. A long time ago he beat a guy almost to death in a bar. He did 8 years for attempted murder.

Should I be locked up because I am around him?

There used to be a drug dealer who lived on my road. Should I be "suspect" because I used to work on his car?

So if you have to go to court and they give YOU the wrong date and YOU don't show up should they come to your house with a SWAT team and kill your wife and son?

You need to look at the events in between. Clearly, he was not cooperating with authorities, which makes him even more suspect.

If he were trule innocent, he should have been a man confronted the problem, an dhe could have been on his way.

His defiance got his wife killed.

Listen...they aren't going to pull the average Joe out of the street to infiltrate the KKK. Because they asked him to, it is clear that he had some type of in with them.

Either he was afraid to infiltrate the organization, or he had a loyalty to them. By his defiance, I would say that he was at least doing business with them.

Casual association with someone like church, work, or geographical location has little to do with anything.

It was his defiance and lack of cooperation that made the feds come down on him. He wasn't an angel. Stop pretending like he was.

Actualy, a little research will show you that the US Army has the most award winning team in non-combat sniper compitition.
The longest recorded kill by a sniper was by a Canadian soldier at 2430 meters (1.5 miles)
More like "US Army has the most award winning team in recent non-combat sniper compitition."

I say this because of the new technology in sniper rifles in the last twenty years. Overall the marines have a better historical track record.

All this is nonesense though if you talk actual combat kills. In actual kills the Marines win hands down. This includes all wars including the gurilla wars between WWI & WWII. These were not declared wars but they were actionable.

Bottom line I thank all uniform persons who keep us free. Best wishes to all & God Bless.
