you're right.......noone can prove there is NO god......it's like trying to prove that there is not ONE rock on this earth that came from Atlantis or something.......you would have to take everything and test it..........it's impossible......but the bible actually preaches against battling your faith to prove there is a god...that is about faith.......i'm just showing that until you can prove something is NOT true....it should not be discarded. |

1 Well then you really don't know what you know, now do you? Come on! Admit it! That would make you an Agnostic and there is nothing wrong with that IMHO. |

1 This is not what you asked for, but I think it is a line of reasoning you might be interested in. 1. There is no proof of God or "No God" 2. IF there is "No God" this (#1) characteristic of the universe would have formed by accident. Which is possible, but doesn't seem likely.(I have yet to formulate a way to calculate the odds). 3. IF there is a God, a truely all powerful creator of the universe. Then this (#1) characteristic of the universe would be there because God INTENDED it to be that way. Given God exists, this would be certainty. Somehow, this seems more likely, though I still haven't formulated a way to calculate the odds yet. 4. All religions claim proof of God's existance. SO .... It would seem very logical to conclude that IF THERE IS a God, he intended there to be no proof of his existance and therefore, God has nothing at all to do with ANY organized religion. Just food for thought. |

now see that is the kind of things i was hoping my post would bring......thank you and i have some food for thought as well..... is it not a possibility that god presented himself to these different people as these different beings in order to be who they would most believe to rule? |

Ahhh..... the old logical fallacy of attempting to prove a negative. Actually, we can be certain beyond a reasonable doubt that your god is not real for the same reasons that we can be reasonably certain that Zeus and the Easter Bunny do not exist. |

i like to here what other people believe......a challenge is the best way to do so....besides....if anyone can tell me anything that I haven't heard I would like to hear it....I like to learn new things.......this way.....if they give me a challenge I haven't heard I can learn more about it...and see if there is any proof in it. |

1 An atheist will generally say there is no proof of a god, therefore, no reason to believe one exists. This is a valid point. Also, it's the reason that belief is called faith and not fact. As for proving there is no god, or that there is one even, it's just not possible...which refers back to faith. However, in general debate rules the proof rests on the claimer, which would be the one saying there is a god. Verdict is still out, so no refutation is possible. I'm agnostic myself; though atheist in regards to organized religions. |

You're twisting the meaning of my words. I did not say that I could 'prove a reasonable doubt'. Nor does it matter which god you refer to- the evidence for the existence of a god(s) is the same regardless of which one(s) you're referring to. Re-read my post and think about it. Assuming that you don't think the Easter Bunny is real, ask yourself why that is so and apply the same logic to 'god'. Some1 Else summed it up nicely a few minutes ago- ie, there is no credible evidence to indicate that any god exists. |

may i politely ask you if you can prove that george washington was a man....no....noone living has seen him.......you do not have a birth certificate or anything of the sort.......all you go by is word of mouth and what history says.......well........why can't there be a god for the same reasons?....oh...and only narrow minded people need proof to believe |

Bam! There it is...I thought she'd made it to at least post 20 before revealing her motive-guess not. Not the best way to open communications. Again, you made the statement you can give 'at least one reason" why anything we throw at you is wrong, so again, what would that reason be? |
