Typical ignorant socialist /radical activist dummy talk. Typical of quasi-educated, "know nothings" echoing talking points from Progressives bent on overthrow of our nation. The public is waking up to the "scourge" you present to our Constitutional freedoms...so just keep it up. Free Speech in action.
Where do you get off preaching your so called moral presumptions of us.You deny the U.S. is in financial turmoil? You deny that Millions of Americans are out of work.Millions more are losing their homes and you preach to us?What are you Haitian that might explain it.What Gall to say that if your more concerned about your own countrymen that were just not as compassionate as you are??Well excuse us for wanting things right here in America and paying attention to American citizens as a priority over others who are suffering. Here's a little news my bloviating pontificator if America goes under who's gonna champion all your worhty causes and stricken people of the world.Americans have a right to be pissed off,and maybe you should wipe the tears for Haiti out of your eyes, and cry a little for your neighbor on your street moron!

I get it, there's a legitimate point in feeling unease about the money going into Haiti but I'd suggest knowing things before forming opinions. I'm just going to broadly respond because so much of the comments on here are so stupid It'd take forever to answer individually.
We're not bankrupt, racking up a huge deficit though, which is a major issue too. However, the only money going to Haiti from the U.S.F.G. is in USAID funds which are budgeted, so even if we watched it all burn none of that money would be saved or go to Americans.
Second, maybe if people voted to expand social welfare programs in the U.S. we would take care of our own. Unfortunately most American's seem happy to donate money to Haiti instead of pay (probably less) is taxes to help Americans.
Third,
A. Really? I mean...really?
B. And what the hell is a "jew-doe christian?" My best guess is a word pun on "psuedo" but I don't think you're that clever. "N*gglet"? This isn't 1950 asshole.
Fourth, while I have no doubt no one is supporting Haiti because of our obvious Neo-colonial connections but I'd say that we probably owe em one after years of successive operations to destroy what little, if admittedly corrupt and ineffectual governance they had, while rigging loans from the IMF/WB that make a foreclosure look like change causing absurd inflation. Yet, for some reason you have no problem with the billions of dollars a year to Israel which has real and dire negative consequences for the United States with absolutely no strategic gain. Guess all the poor upper-middle class white Israeli's are a more sympathetic focus?
Last, CBart--you been thinking about that one for a while havent you? Liberal Conservative? ideology is the problem. Instead of looking at facts and tailoring solutions, demagogues like you spout out a few key buzzwords like they mean something. Political parties (i.e. ideologies) are the death of the country, read the Federalist Paper's sometimes, our founding fathers seemed to realize the detriment such bullshit has on our wonderful country.
Here's a thought, why the fuck should I pay to baillout a bunch of idiot's who couldn't do the simple math to realize with their income level they shouldn't take out such a large loan on such a big house. It's not my fault some irresponsible idiots lived outside their means, at least if the banks failed the world economic system is threatened. Stop systemic risk, not emotional distress from hearing about some poor bloke too dumb to realize the economy goes up and down.
The reason Haiti gets so much money? New technology, remember those "txt xxxx to donate 10$ to Haiti?" Well, funny thing is it's really easy to get people to donate money when they never have to write a check, hand over cash or enter credit card info on a website. When someone can thoughtless donate with a text while sitting on your ass during commercials, it turns out, leads to record breaking donations, to the tune of 40 times the amount of aggregate charitable donations the year prior.
There's no big overarching conspiracy or reason, just a simple thoughtless little advance. People spend their money like they want and do what they want, it's ironic that all these "freedom loving americans," want to dictate the choices of others so much. Especially when all (most) of you are SOOO foolish.

I thought call you out. This is really just silly now. Again, I don't exactly understand what you think would happen if none of the money had been donated? Do you really think any of that money would go to Americans? The U.S.F.G. budgets things for emergencies (not much, lol but something) so all the tax money would just have been sent to some other country or cause (importantly not Americans) and even if it was, the money is negligible. However, I feel your outrage that Americans aren't taken care of better, that's why we all should just pay more in taxes so all of us can at least be guaranteed basic necessities? Right? That's the solution to the problem you've outlined?

Somehow I think you're not going to like that... Everyone wants to go to Heaven but no one wants to die.

Also, tone down the melodrama dude. It's a pretty bad recession and a nasty combination of unemployment, a high deficit (I might add all because we wanted everything for nothing, can't have tax cuts and increase spending [Iraq/Afghanistan]) and crisis in finance (which tend to be more severe) but by NOOO means does charitable donations to Haiti mean our country is just going to belly up. Seriously, people have been saying this shit FOREVER. Grow up, the world isn't so simple or sensationalist, I'd suggest with stop watching TV "News" media and Ideological information.

Just giving Haitians money doesn't resolve the issue - they must want change and they're not moving in that direction.

So - why give love only to be taken advantage of? Live and learn.

Why did Haiti exists anyway? Shouldn't they know they are living on a dangerous fault line? Or gets hit by hurricanes every year? I don't care about Haiti, instead I would rather donate to the homeless people or donate to find a cure to cancer.
